high blood pressure...
I have been having slightly elevated blood pressure for the past few weeks.. last night into today i have had bad swelling and a headache.... i went to rite aid and checked it and it was 144/86... doc gave me 2 options... wait until he is back in the office tomorrow morning or go to the hospital tonight.... what should I do?!?!?

How far along are you?
Have you ever had protein in your urine?
I'd say you'd probably be alright to wait until the morning, but if you are really nervous you need to listen to your gut if it's telling you to go to the hospital!

I agree...if you feel like you can wait until the morning to see him I would. Just try to relax and put your feet up.

I went to the doctor on my due date (which was a friday) and my blood pressure was elevated, I had slight protein in my urine, swelling and headaches...they sent me home with a jug to do a 24 hour urine collection and was put on modified bed rest.
I'd just take it very easy until tomorrow Morning!

I would go to the hospital. I have had preeclampsia, which is characterized by, high blood pressure, swelling, headaches, protein in urine. It can be extremely serious if left untreated. It is not something to play around with. They may tell you to stay on your left side, but they may need to deliver the baby today. This is not something to wait on.

I would go to the hospital...why not...if you are having preeclampsia type stuff your doctor will probably just send you there tomorrow anyway and i'd rather have the piece of mind to be checked out today

I hope you went to the hostpial. I just had my baby @ 33 weeks due to Pre- clampsia and HELPP syndrome... please please you don't wait ..

Thanks girls... I went to dr this am... He said I don't have any other symptoms of preeclampsia but they took blood. I will find out more tomorrow.. Wish me luck!

I had pre eclampsia and its not something you want to mess with. If your doctor didnt already send you to the hospital then I would assume he doesnt believe you have it yet. If your headaches get any worse or if you are seeing spots in your vision, go right to the hospital.

I just read your response on the other post... It sounds very scary! As of today, I did not have any protein in my urine, just high blood pressure. I think the blood test is a panel to make sure everything is ok
