1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
So at 5wks Im finding my appetite has decreased somewhat. Is that ok? Im not interested in much food and when I do eat I dont finish it all where as before finding out I was pregnant I would eat and eat and finish my plate. Is this normal during the first trimester?

I was the same way. I had to eat the tiniest meals every couple hours.

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
I didn't eat much Tri 1 due to MS and lost 10 pounds. The problem was I know I was going to throw up every meal, and nothing appealed to me, so I wasn't making the best choices. Now that I am keeping food down, I'm trying to make healthier choices.

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
I lost my appetite pretty much right away, and didn't get it back until I was 20 or 21 weeks. I had to force myself to eat. Sometimes when DH was working nights, 9 or 9:30 PM would roll around and it would be like, "Dammit! I forgot to eat dinner!" I'd honestly just forget because I wasn't hungry.
No worries, though - baby takes what it needs from the little you eat. By the end of those 20 weeks, I'd gained about 13 pounds (eating LESS than I had before I was pg!) and my was right on track as far as size/weight.

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
Yea for me totally normal. With dd I lost 20lbs first trimester due to ms and loss of appetite. This tune no ms at all but no appetite at all! I lost about 5lbs and now at 15.5 weeks am back at pre preggo weight but still not much of an appetite

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
Totally normal! I think I lost weight the 1st trimester. I ate very few foods....Most of the time watermelon, pizza, penne vodka, pineapple and McDonald's fries. Don't worry....you'll get your appetite back!

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
I'm seven weeks today and haven't weighed myself but all of my clothes are loose.
I have very little appetite, a half slice of pizza now and then, a tiny serving of pasta, buttered toast...this all started around week 5. I find that having smoothies is a GREAT way to get essential nutrients. The cold and drinking through a straw helps.
Good luck and don't worry

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
from 4-6 I was starving and could not eat enough. towards the end of 6 weeks I started to not want to eat at all. I'm almost 9 weeks and this weekend it began to wear off, and I'm starting to eat more.
I read that if your not hungry its important to have 6 very healthy snacks so thats what I did. and I would take my time eating the snacks.

Re: 1st trimester- decrease in appetite?
I was like that with DS#1...totally not like that with this pregnancy.
Just eat what you can and often. I found that if I didn't eat i'd feel really sick.
