Infertility on Mother's Day...
Hi- so I know I haven't posted in forever... but I thought this needed sharing. I woke up and went on FB, and immediately saw all the Mother's Day posts. We'll hit 7 years of trying "officially" in 1 week- and still have empty arms to show for it. Don't get me wrong- today I take honor at being a Godmother, and an Aunt. And a mom to my furbabies, but I also mourn each miscarriage and wish they were here... So the point of this post is I looked up Mother's Day Infertility and came across this poem. It's not mine, but I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope it brings you some peace and comfort today. 
Infertilty on Mother's Day
“Happy Mother's Day”
it comes around every year;
but when you have empty arms,
it's very hard to hear.
It's a day to celebrate a mother,
for all the trials she overcame;
and a reminder to an infertile
of her loneliness and shame.
But what really makes a mother,
Is it just conception and birth?
Or is there something more,
that shows a mother's worth?
It's putting your child first,
in everything you do;
it's sacrifice and determination,
and love and patience too.
An infertile woman makes all her plans,
around a child not yet conceived;
she loves them even though they aren't here,
more than she ever could have believed.
She appreciates and understands,
what a blessing that children are;
she works hard for just a chance,
that motherhood is not that far.
All odds are stacked against her,
and yet she still has hope;
everyday is another struggle,
finding ways to help her cope.
So even though her arms are empty,
she can still be a mother too;
So say a special “Happy Mother's Day”
for those waiting for their dreams to come true!

This was very sweet, I was thinking how hard yesterday was for me and everyone else that have tried, keep trying, lost and some of us, like me, who had to give up.

Thanks Jen! I'm still around-I lurk from time to time, but don't really post. There's been nothing to post about lately anyway... Still dealing w/ my old dr & his outrageous bills & in the process of getting our embryos moved... so we'll see how that goes. My current dr found a bunch of issues that my last one(s) missed. Unfortunately we learned the hard way--- emptied out my 401K, did a cycle, put 2 back, got pregnant with twins, and then lost both. It's been quite a journey so far... I've gotten to the point that I can't even post about it anymore... I feel like it's like  , if that makes any sense. Thank you for your prayers! I'm glad you're doing well!

Thanks! I thought it was a perfect poem. It helped me get thru the day!
ETA: So did my 7 year old niece... she went to give me a HUGE Mother's Day hug goodbye b/c I was going to my IL's and I leaned down @ the same time as she jumped up & I think she may have broken my nose.   Immediate blood & runny nose & tears, and she got SO freaked out b/c she hurt me... though it was a total accident.  I ended up spending the day with her and my mom (couldn't drive to my IL's b/c I was dizzy and nauseaus). Though I was in pain, and had a possible concussion/broken nose (I've already broken my nose- they couldn't do anything last time)... I still think it was God's way of giving me an out from celebrating Mother's day!  Instead my niece catered to me all day and we spent the day cuddled on the couch watching Scooby Doo! I couldn't think of a better way to spend it!

Lol Janice! Awww, it's nice to know I was missed. I know- right! She'll be 8 on the 30th!  I still remember sitting @ my desk in ML finding out they were having a girl and   Her Communion is going to be on Saturday... I'm such a lucky aunt... I love her to pieces (and my nephews too!) And we'll have a new nephew at the latest the day after her birthday!

Thanks for sharing the poem -- it's lovely. Since our anniversary and my birthday are this time of year, too, we tend to go away over MD. Makes it sooo much easier -- this year, I was lucky to remember to call my own mother!
