Alternative to PODS

Has anyone used another company besides PODS?

I'm so annoyed. I had one scheduled for 5/16 for $426 for the month. I specifically asked if we needed to change our drop off date would that be an issue. I was told "no, you have up to 24 hrs b4 drop off to make changes or cancel an order". OK great!

Since I placed the order I received a coupon in the mail and we needed a new drop off date.

I call to reschedule the drop off and ask about applying the coupon. OK no problem she tells me....until I get a new quote of $60 MORE!WHAT?? Chat Icon Chat Icon

They explain that the original price was a "bundle special" at the time and is no longer available for the new dates!
So now it's going to cost almost $500 for 1 month rentalChat Icon

We tried a few dates before and a few dates after but nothing worked.

I argued that I was never told the 1st price was a "special" and was reassured if I needed to change the dates the price wouldn't be an issue. Because I really wanted to make sure we didn't get hit with a cancellation fee or rescheduling fee.

Didn't matter to them. This is the new price and that it's. I'm so mad about this...so I told her they just lost a customer and to cancel it.

So after this long winded vent. Has anyone had experience with anyone else out there that's similar to PODS that they would recommend?

TIA

Re: Alternative to PODS

there are also SAM's too

i actually used SAM to lower my PODs price

but be ready the first quote you get from SAM's is usually the lowest

also asks for managers- i played a bunch of games back and forth and got them down a lot

We used PODS and had no issues - My first month was only $250 plus delivery and then it was $225 a month - We had 2

Ours was around $185 plus $65 for drop off and another $65 for pick up - I can't believe you were getting charged over $400! Chat Icon

ETA: We had the biggest size, too

Yeah...we're getting the biggest size also. But we're having them transport (abt 1-1/2 miles) it to the new house as well. And that's were more fees come inChat Icon I couldn't believe the price eitherChat Icon

To the other posters, I'll look into Cassone and Sams Club. Thank youChat Icon

Re: Alternative to PODS

Just used Island Storage out of Farmingdale. They only have one size but their monthly rental rate is a lot cheaper than PODS.
