Irish Girls Names
Any suggestions? I don't want something impossible to pronounce, but I would like to use an Irish name. Thanks!

Re: Irish Girls Names
DD is Maeve Bridget which I love. We are thinking of maybe Aisling, Cara, Fiona or Eilis for this baby if its a girl (although really still have no clue so this thread is great for me too!)
I also love: Mairead Claire Roisin Sinead Molly Aoife Niamh Saoirse Ciara Catriona Moira

Re: Irish Girls Names
DD is Mairead Geraldine and many of the names that carlowlou posted are on my list as well, but most of them are hard to pronounce by most Americans.
Many of the names given, while nice, are more Irish surnames that have become popular as first names in America or "place names" such as Kerry, Shannon, Erin - which would not be common names given as first names. In Ireland basically any saints name and the old Gaelic names are popular. "American" names are also very popular over there. my cousins over there who have had babies in the last couple of years have been named Leah, Lauren, Lily, Dylan and Jennifer.
We are considering these names if DC is a Most of these are hard to pronounce, so you may not like them.
Niamh Aoife Aine Maeve Clare
I also love the name Sinead but it rhymes with my DD's name, so that's dumb!! I also like Ciara, but DH doesn't. I also really like Rory; it's technically a boys name, but one of those names that could work for a girl too!

Re: Irish Girls Names
My DD is Callan Mairead. Like donegal mention, Callan is more of a surname in Ireland and the name of a town. Her nickname is Callie.
