help I don't want to dress frumpy - I gained so much weight
I gained so much weight this winter, I was doing great at fall, went back to pre preg weight, and during winter went up to size 14. I expected to gain a bit, but didn't realize I lost track of so much. I am sick with disappointment.
In dire need of flattering summer tops and cocktail dresses. I have been to lane bryant and literally cryed. Everything looks so frumpy and looks so big. Nothing flatters. I'm also only 5'1 which makes it even more frustrating.
Please recommend stores, online or in person.

Which neighborhood is your Khols store? The one near me leaves much to be desired.

first I just asked a friend of mine , she said she shops at the Avenue , Dressbarn (spl) and Fashion bug. I think they all have online stores and regular stores you can go to. She said also try Marshalls, century 21 and Daffys you can find some cute stuff there .

If you are near the Sunrise mall in Massapequa, they have a Torrid store or you can shop online. I also like Avenue and Ddress Barn. Lane bryant is always hit or miss, dont feel down becaause of them!

At a size 14, the plus size stores can run too big. 14 womens is different than 14 misses.
14 misses can be alitle harder to find, but I am a 16 now & still don't shop in Lane Bryant, etc.
Ann Taylor Loft, New York & Company, Land End, Macy's all have misses 14s.

i was just going to post this.. most stores carry size 14 in all their regular clothes, you don't have to go to a specifically plus sized store
try NY&Co, Old Navy, Macy's, JC Penny, H&M Even Express has size 14
Don't despair!! there's plenty of good clothing out there, you just have to spend a bit more time trying things on to find the styles that flatter you.
i'm a 14-16 (well, before being preggo) and i find that plus sized stores run way too big for me in the 14's and 16's, so i stick to finding those sizes in the other stores.
