Intro and a question about subchorionic hematomas!

Alright......... I'm finally comfortable "officially" making my intro here even though so many of you know who I am Chat Icon

My pennykittens are due December 16th but since they are Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I will be going earlier than that!!

I actually have a question that I would love any info about .. FMs.. experiences.. whatever... I had a really horrible bleeding episode that started last night. I went for a sono today and turns out I have a subchorionic hematoma.

I'm wondering if anyone can share any experience they have with this with me... It's so hard not to panic when you see gushes of blood Chat Icon Chat Icon but I keep reminding myself I saw the babies this morning and everyone was fine.. well .. everyone except the crazy mama Chat Icon who is currently trying to remind herself that all this blood still means the babies are safe! Thanks ladies!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Intro and a question about subchorionic hematomas!

I had a very large subchorionic hematoma with my first pregnancy. I started bleeding bright red around 7 weeks, so they had me go for weekly sonograms to measure it. It ultimately got smaller and was absorbed by itself. It's scary to see bright red blood, but it's kinda normal if you have a hematoma - doesn't mean anything is necessarily wrong... Call the doctor if you're ever worried! Good luck Chat Icon

Re: Intro and a question about subchorionic hematomas!

Hey...1st off CONGRATS!!!!!!

I had a SBH when I was almost 8 weeks and had tons of bleeding. I was terrified. So much blood and clots coming out but I went to Dr. B and he saw both babies and 2 strong heartbeats so I felt better. He assured me that I would see a lot more blood and he was right. I bled heavy for another 3 days (and chunks) and then had spotting for over a week after that.
The clot was in front of the babies so that was a good thing.
Dont drive yourself nuts. I KNOW its hard...every time I went to the doc I was scared if what I might hear but THANKFULLY all was good. Im surr the same will apply to u and your three precious babies.

Hi there.Chat Icon. I have a small SCH also. I haven't experienced any bleeding yet, but my RE warned me I might and not to be worried if I had some spotting (yeah, right!).

From what I understand, they're pretty common in IVF and esp. with multiples. I know how scary it is as if we don't have enough to worry about.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I was just saying I hoped to have an uneventful pregnancy this time around... well I couldn't make it past 7wks without having some kind of drama!! Chat Icon At least this is something that shouldn't impact the babies!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks ladies!!! Chat Icon It feels amazing to finally be back.. though I'm still in disbelief!! The time this feels the most real is either at one of my sonos.. or when I wake up feeling like I might throw up on my way to the bathroom!! Chat Icon

Was rooting for you on IF too, another Dr. B girl and due very close to you (December 10th). Dr. B diagnosed me with an SBH during my Friday ultrasound too. Mine's small and no bleeding yet, but still scary, so I know what you're going throught. The important thing is they are all three doing well!
