I had a bassinet I borrowed from my sister...so glad we didn't spend any $ on it b/c DD did not sleep 1 night in it. She LOVED the rock-n-play sleeper and slept in that her first 4 mos until we moved her to the crib.
You need nothing else in my opinion.

We will be using a bassinet for the first few weeks since I will be breast feeding and want her right in my room with me.
Then we will move her to the nursery in her crib 
The bassinet we bought is gender neutral so we will save it just incase there is a #2!

FIL is building us a cradle (he's a carpenter). So the baby will sleep in that in our room.
