BTDT EBF Moms: A few question about switching to cow milk

DS will be 10 months on Tuesday so I still have some time before we introduce cows milk but I was wondering how you moms did it.

I plan on beginning to wean DS at 12 months although it seems as though he is beginning now. He has been refusing to nurse during the day and only taking it morning and night and maybe one time during the afternoon. I keep offering but he just doesn't want it.

When you weaned and introduced cows milk what was your schedule?
Did you give the CM at the same times you would have normally BF?

How many oz did you offer per serving?

DS drinks for a straw sippy cup only. Should I give him the CM in his cup or give him a bottle?

Haha I was actually going to post the same questions! I'm not BTDT but we are introducing CM this weekend when DS turns one.

He also only really drinks out of a straw sippy so I was wondering if I gave CM to him in that would he drink it too quickly? He downs water from the straw cups. I guess I'll try and see but I was going to try sippys instead of bottles, since he'll need to get off bottles eventually and this seems like a good time to do it. I plan to still nurse morning and night until he weans. I'll let you know how it goes!

I continued to nurse in the morning and gave DS a sippy cup with milk at each meal. It took about a month to fully transition to cow's milk/cups. At first, DS would only drink the milk if it was warmed and in a bottle. He also only drank 1-2 oz of milk at the beginning. Eventually he drank 6-8 oz of milk at each meal.
