I think your choice for upstairs is fine. Is there anyway that you could put a bed up there too though? That way you could stay up there sometimes so you don't have to keep going up & down. We put a twin aerobed in the room the babies will go into. I might end up sleeping there alot, especially since DH snores.

i woudl put the baby upstairs. keep the bassinet in your room for the first few months and invest in a good baby monitor

yes - there's a twin bed in there now, and a queen in the other otherwise-empty bedroom upstairs.
