Wow that drink was sweet! She drew blood 4x from the same arm...I can connect the dots!! So glad that's over but I really hope I passed.
You had them all in the same arm too??
Did she try the other arm? Dig around in there a little bit?? haha. not pleasant!! I was so happy when the test was over!!
I failed the 3 hour though.

Aw Kerri! I'm sorry you failed the 3-hour, but GD is really not so terrible. Once you get the hang of it it is easy to manage. I know you must be pretty bummed, too. I know I was!

And the one year I was really looking forward to an Easter Basket of candy too!!!
i just found out i failed the 1hr. im going to go for the 3hr in two weeks (due to scheduling mainly).
what were your numbers on the 1hr?

Well I cried when I found out I failed the 1 hour. Then I almost broke down in the middle of the 3 hour test fiasco. After pulling myself together again... I thought.. OK it will be OK.
I found out this morning I failed the 3 hour...and I didn't cry... though I was def bummed. I tried to look at it positively... at least I KNOW I will be eating healthy from here on out and I will learn some new things I'm sure. I was also planning on going on a diet starting August... so this just moves that plan up a little more (even though it's a different diet). I'm a good dieter... been on and off diets since I was a teen.
But I won't lie.. a part of me is sad today. I'll be fine though. And I'm sure I will have some questions!!!!!

i was 155. they say 130 is the cutoff but some things i read said 140. i guess it doesnt matter either way.
im not entirely surprised, i have PCOS and im already on metformin so i knew from the beginning there was a chance. also i wont lie - ive eaten more sweets then ever this pregnancy..

Yea they told me 130 then also. They def didn't say 140 to me. I think some dr's let you slide by with a few points.
I also ate more sweets than I normally do. I'm usually a much more conscious eater. I didn't gain a lot of weight though. I'm less than 20 lbs and I'm 29 weeks along now.

Kerri - I'm so sorry to hear that you didn't pass. I'm sure I'm going to be in the same boat as you. My number on the one hour was 162 and I even fasted! I was shocked that she drew blood from the same arm this morning. I feel like there are no veins left!! I'm also going into my 29th week (I believe we are due the same day  ). I'm pregnant with  and have only gained about 28 pounds so far...I'm all belly! My doctor doesn't seem concerned though. I'm just hoping that my babies aren't big because I have GD! The suspense is going to kill me over the weekend! I'll be in touch and let you know what my results are.

why do you have to see an endocrinologist? i was sent to a nutritionist/dietician and then to a high risk dr.
will they do the same thing?
Kerri i JUST went through this as i failed about 2 weeks ago and i cried for days but lik ethe other said...so far its really not that bad. i'll see what happens when i meet the high risk dr on thursday if i am doing ok but so far ive found a lot of flexibility in the diet and its not really that big of a change so far.

I saw this debated in the thread so I just want to say what I did for mine. (I did it when I was 14wks pregnant since I have PCOS and my dr said I should test early since apparently that puts me more at risk).
I DID NOT eat anything that morning. I went to my dr's office and they drew blood. Then I took the drink and sat there for an hour. Then they took blood again and I was free to go. I passed by 16pts.
I would say maybe don't eat before it next time

I have no idea. She gave me the name and number to an endocrinologist. No mention of a nutritionist/dietitian or high risk dr. She did say they would give me a special diet.
My friend had this with her first pregnancy (and probably has it this time around as well) and she said they gave her pee stick tests for keystones I believe and finger blood tests to use after every meal. She had a dr appt when she found out she failed. For me the nurse just called me.
I did ask the nurse if I need to make an appt with the dr to discuss... she said no and that my regular next appt is fine as is (that's May 5th).
I think dr's and their offices just all do things differently.
I know NOTHING about what this diet is like. I'm glad to hear good things about it. I love vegetables so that's a plus for me. I also love fruit, but IDK how much fruit is involved. My one thing... I really don't care much for meat. I'm not a vegetarian... but I'm very close to it. So I might have an issue there and with protein.

I failed by more than flowerwife though.
Honestly... next pregnancy... I'm fasting before the 1 hour test. Hopefully I won't ever have to take another 3 hour test again... but who knows.
