Anyone else going to ask to see the placenta?
I must be weird because I definitely am going to ask to see the placenta after I deliver it. I mean the placenta gave nutrients to the baby for 10 months. Or maybe I watch too much CSI and stuff like that doesn't phase me too much. 
I told my friend that and she looked at me like I was nutso.

I know I have heard of that. Don't worry no placenta sandwiches for me!
I have also heard of people taking it home and planting it, some make pills out of it and swallow them, some make a teddy bear out of it.

It's so funny you post this. My husband was amazed at the placenta and actually took a picture of it (no, I'm not going to share it...).
It really is pretty amazing how it provides all the nutrients for your baby as it grows.

That teddy bear looks like something Hannibal/Buffalo Bill would have as a toy for his child.
As far as seeing the placenta - If I see it I see it, if I don't I don't. Something tells me I'm not going to be able to take my eyes off my baby once it's born!

My dr had a med student or resident with him while i was in labor. So when I delivered the placenta, he gave a very thorough explanation, holding it up, spreading it apart, showing him the different parts of it, right in front of me... It was def pretty cool. I love stuff like that.
ETA: my baby was taken to the NICU so, I really had nothing else to be fixated on.

I saw my sister's, no thank you! I asked NOT to see mine LOL but I did read my pathology report on it, which was pretty interesting!
ETA: I do however think that the teddy bear is kind of a cute idea to give your kids. LOL Maybe I am just sick in the head.

i can't deal with seeing an organ..... i don't think its weird if you're interested and not grossed out by it... some people eat it (eeeeeeeeek)

mine literally came flying out of me with #1, my doctor came running to try to catch it while yelling "OH MY GOD, I'm not geared up to take this" LOL!!!!!!!!!! I never got a chance to see but there is no way in he l l I'd want too! I had no idea what was going on but I'm glad I didn't.
