kinda upset

so i know about my shower, but i dont know details and everything...

my mom is planning the whole thing and i know my best friend has been a help as far as getting addresses etc.

so i was talking to her today, and i just asked if she knew if my MIL had any part in helping my mom (she was ZERO help with planning my bridal shower, so i was curious if she would have even offered my mother money or her help)

so my friend said she would casually ask my mom that question today because she had to call her for something else.

and turns out! she has been no help! which upsets me but is no surprise!!

then she was saying most of DH's family have no yet RSVP'ed and that most of my friend either cant come or havent RSVP'ed either.

im kinda bummed!
this is my first baby and i dont know its kinda special!! i get people are busy and i cant expect everyone to be there but it just kinda feeling like from some of my friend that they dont really care. (i know i may just be extra hormonal) but just stinks thats all

i understand why you are upset, but I bet your shower will still be amazing!!!

This happened with my baby shower as well! I was really upset by it. None of DH's family except one wife of a friend and my MIL came. It turned out ok in the end. I still had a good time. I love my family and was glad they were all there to support me. I am sure you will have a great time at your shower as well!!

Has your RSVP date passed yet? It could just be that they are last minute people. I'm sure that most of the family that lives in the area will do their best to be there!

I have a similar situation re: friends, but my issue is that most of my friends live OOS. Total bummer, but it's to be expected.

Do your friends have kids? Are they married? I know that for my friends who haven't been through the shower process for weddings or kids themselves, it's definitely a different feeling than those who have had their own showers, KWIM?
