Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

So I registered for the FP My Little Lamb, even tho the Snug a Bunny was the newer model and I actually liked the look of it better. Reason being, the Snug a Bunny doesn't have the tray and the Lamb does. I bumped into a BTDT mom in BBB and she mentioned to me that she had the lamb and went thru SO many D batteries and that the Bunny comes with an AC Adapter. She also pointed out that I prob won't be putting Chat Icon in the swing at the point when I need to worry about her leaning forward without the tray and unless I plan on feeding her in her swing ( which I don't ) it's not really necessary.

What are you girls' opinions? My mom said that if it were unsafe it wouldn't be out for sale and I should exchange the Lamb for the Bunny ( it's already been bought off my registry). I really do think I like the bunny better. Decisions, decisions Chat Icon

If you like the bunny better I'd exchange it. I'm in the same boat re the battery issue except I really prefer the look of the my little lamb one (especially since we are having a boy). We are tentatively going with the lamb but I may change my mind...

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

The one that plugs in HANDS DOWN! So much easier bc the time that she will spend in there will cost you a ton in batteries.

I get what you are saying about the tray but honestly at the age the are in the swing the don't even notice it. Your Mom is right the strap holds them in, not the tray.

i think the one that plugs in will be the best bet. the swing we registered for comes with a tray also but i didn't really care for the way it lifted up, so my DH said he might not put it on when he's building the swing. if i think i need it, then we can always install it later on.

My kids never used the tray - by the time they are old enough for a tray they are too big for the swing! Go with the bunny Chat Icon

ITA regarding the plug in swing. From a BTDT Mom, the swings go through batteries really fast and the plug in ones are great!

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

there's no way i'd get a swing that couldn't plug in - Sean lived in that thing for 3.5 months (until he sat up and leaned himself over the side and it got put away .........) Chat Icon

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

I think I had the original papasan swing for DS#1. It runs on batteries and has the tray. We rarely used the tray and would have traded it for a plug in a second! Go for the one that plugs in!

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

I'd go for the one you could plug in. As a BTDT Momma, I will say that for the first few months DD used the swing A LOT and I would've had to buy stock in Duracell to keep that thing going! lol

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

I loved my swing that plugged in. I hated the tray! It honestly just got in the way and I would leave it up most of the time.

We got the bunny for the simple reason that it plugs in and we will save on batteries.

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

Just an FYI -- after reading about the swings.

I checked online and with BRU and BBB, not a one that I looked up from Central Suffolk all the way to Queens, has the Snug-a-Bunny swing in stock. Read that from other moms on here, that that is one downside to this swing...the availability.

However, it IS available in store at several Targets around the island.

For this reason alone, I just created a Target registry for this swing, and if no one buys it, I can at least get a completion coupon from there and get it.

We had the lamb - it was literally on for HOURS a day every day for 6 months and we replaced the batteries twice.

Re: Rethinking my swing decision - need opinions

You will be ripping thru batteries all the time.

get the snug a bunny! DD loves it, and this swing is on 24/7, being able to plug it in is the BEST. Sometimes we just use it for the music, when she is in the Rock n Play.
