Girls with EARLY sonograms...
I had a loss in October so my doctors have been hyper vigilant with testing. My betas are good but my five week sonogram only showed a sac... My doctor reassured me that this is typical for such an early sonogram. I still feel nervous. Have any of you expereinced something similiar? He wanted me back in a week or so, but I will be on vacation. My next appointment is three weeks away! Part of me thinks that is good because by then I will be closer to eight weeks and able to see more. BUT part of me feels like I might be worried between now and then.

If this helps at all, I went in for a sono at 6w6d and when the dr did an external sono you still couldn't see much of anything. Had to do an internal in order to see something and that is almost a full 2 weeks past where you are. HTH a little!

At 5wks, a sac is all you could expect to see! The fact it was there is great news!!

I agree! With my first pregnancy, I went at just over 5 weeks for a sono and only saw a sac. Went back a week later and saw a heartbeat!!

A sac at 5 w is good. that's what you should see.
around the 6 week mark you should see a heartbeat.

ITA with the other posts...at 5w I went for my sono and only saw a sac (I was completely freaked out as well!) and 2 weeks later saw the heartbeat!!!

Sac at 5weeks is normal. At 4 wks we saw nothing. At 6 wks the sac was present

I agree with everyone else. At 5w6d all we saw was a sac with a yolk sac in it (the baby's food). A week later we saw the fetus and it measured 1 cm. So a week earlier, it would have been smaller than 1 centimeter - way too small to see on screen!

At 5 wks i only saw a sac & fetal pole. I believe. At 6 wks you will see more. Yolk sac, sac & fetal pole maybe even a HB & by 7 wks definitely the HB!

At 6wks with my 2nd DS they only saw a sac - he is healthy! 5 wks is REALLY early and great to see at sac!
