So disappointed with Old Navy
I don't normally shop there but I have a gift card, and of the three stores (gap, ON and BR) I figured I would get the most bang for my buck there.
Well the quality of the clothes has really gone down the tubes! Some of the shirts were cut on a weird bias and didn't fit properly, the hems were terrible, the pants were horribly sized (um, how can I be a size 10 in one pant and a 6 in another from the same freaking store?!) and the fitting rooms are annoying as he'll because the hooks don't hold the hangers Most of the shirt fabrics were so thin and flimsy as well.
I am so hitting up the BR outlet Old Navy won't be seeing me anytime soon!

I have seen such a decline in ON..sometimes I wonder what the hell they are thinking when they design things.

I agree! I actually would rather just shop at the Gap Outlet. It has similiar prices to ON and IMO a much better selection.

ITA.....a few months ago I bought a bunch of "knock around" clothes and they are such bad quality that I made them into PJs pretty much right away. I will never shop there again.

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
ON has been making me mad lately. The pants almost always grow within an hour of wearing them...and they don't grow a little...they are hanging off of me.
A lot of the shirts are either too short, or they start to do this weird crinkly thing on the bottom after having them on for a couple of hours. So annoying! I rarely buy from there anymore.

Oh my GOD yes. The pants are different lengths from pant to pant. The sizes are all jacked up. And to be honest- they aren't all THAT cheap. I'm done too

So true, different length AND size, quality is really bad too... That's why I never shop there for myself and I agree they really are not that cheap at all. The only thing I ever bought there was skinny cargo pants, got 2 pairs, one fits perfectly and the other one EXACT same pants, just different color are huge on me, and they faded so much just after one wash in cold water and no dryer....

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
I think it changes every single season and sometimes one thing is good (like the T-shirts) when another thing is such a bad quality (like the jeans), then the next season it may even be the reverse.

I really do not like ON. Nothing fits right, the quality is awful.
Can you use the GC at Piperlime.com? They have some great things. BR outlet is always good though.

ON used to have cute tops/shirts. Now, it's so thin it does not hold shape.
I don't shop there anymore.

I can't stand ON anymore. I used to like their summer stuff but everything fits so wonky. Not a Gap fan either. Can you use the gift card to Piperlime? That's where I'd be spending!
ETA: Ack, just saw your other response. Sometimes they have some good deals though!

Wonky! My new favorite word!
I have 20% off coupons to Tanger so I'm going there this weekend. Hopefully the Gap or Banana Republic outlets have something!

I love Old Navy but I have to agree - the quality is seriously lacking! For now, I'm sticking with them for workout clothes & PJs!!

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
Use it for the kids - that is all I shop for now there - clothes for Cailen - cheap, he can crap them up, and he grows out of them so quickly, who cares about the quality - but that being said, I find his ON clothes much better quality than mine...

That was my original plan but our families recently went crazy buying summer clothes for the kids, plus DD just got a bunch of stuff for her birthday, so there isn't anything they need right now

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
IMO Old Navy clothes are disposable - The quality is horrendous. I'm pretty frugal and love a good bargain, but I'd rather pay full price for something that will last at BR than $10 for something that will be mishapen after the first use at ON. The quality used to be SO much better... I like Gap for the kids, but not as much for myself. Their basics are good, but I can always find equally/better quality pieces cheaper elsewhere.

BR outlet all the way. They have awesome sales too. Honestly I walk right past Old Navy and the Gap and go straight to Banana. I'll check and see if their coupon is still good and I'll FM you if it is.

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
I still buy from ON, but only certain things:
- a few "disposable" tees and layering tanks each year... cheap enough that I don't mind tossing them at the end of the summer
- cheap workout clothes... I work out at home, so I have nobody to impress by wearing lululemon, lol
- PJ bottoms
I used to buy their jeans for everyday use because I'm a SAHM and I don't want to ruin good $$$ jeans getting food stains on them, going to the playground, etc But honestly, the quality of the jeans is a joke these days-- the inconsistent sizing, the way they lose their shape within minutes of putting them on, etc. I'd feel more finished in a good quality pair of sweats than in these jeans!!!

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
I got a nice denim jacket there in the Fall. I still get flip-flops there and I've had good luck w/ cardigans. I think the little ruffle skirts for the Summer are cute.

Re: So disappointed with Old Navy
the last time i went in there it looked like a place where all hippies disposed of their leftovers. I seriously hated everything.
It was either hippie stuff or cardigans that looked like they were made for mr. rogers.
I walked across the street to ann taylor loft and got a bunch of stuff there..pricier but worth it!
