Do you think your pets know your PG?

We have to cats - a big boy Leo (18lbs!) and a little girl Illy (10 lbs, if even that).

I swear my little Illy knows I'm PG! I think she's the one that told me I was PG to begin with! About a 2 weeks before I found out I was PG I had a dream my belly was purring. I'm sure it was her laying next to my belly, but ever since that night she sleeps next to my belly and even kneeds on it daily.

My big boy couldn't care less, but that's his attitude about everything.

Anyone else?

no, if they did my mom's german shepard would be much more cautious around me but he still goes crazy and tries to jump all over me

I think animals definitely pick up on it. I have a chinchilla that usually doesn't like to snuggle, but lately he's just been sitting on my belly.

we have 2 dogs and a cat. and I swear the cat knows what is going on. She is not all that cuddly and since the egg retrieval she lays on my uterus for at least an hour and a half a day.

Yes. My dog never sleeps on the bed but when I'm pregnant she wants to sleep at my feet.

I completely think my cats know...one of them used to tap on my belly (you know how they "massage") but now it kinda bothers me, so I divert her...she likes to lay near me and near the belly, though...our other cat will curl up next to my belly as if he is keeping it warm...they are generally with me more often and very sweet...

I think my dog knew when I was pregnant. He would come over to me whenever I was laying on the couch and put his head on my stomach and follow me all over the place. He hadn't been like that previously. I was already pregnant when we got our cat, but I think by the end of it she clued in that something was up because she started sleeping curled up next to my stomach.

Since I got pregnant, my inlaws' dog stays close to me and sits on my feet when I'm sitting. I don't think it's a coincidence. She never used to do that. I think it's really cute.

My parents female shi tzu knows. She all of a sudden early on would sit on my lap. And would cuddle with me. Now she does a little bit. It's amazing how they know. My dog may know. He's always cuddling with me now. But is probably because he's jealous DS is always near me LOL

Re: Do you think your pets know your PG?

My Rottie loves to be in bed with us, but she will usually sleep at our feet and since I have been pregnant, she totally snuggles up on me or in between me and DH AND she follows me a little more than usual! I am so excited for her, she has no idea that she will have a baby to protect soon :) I do worry that she will be sad with the amount of attention she will have to share with the baby :(

I have a 1 & 1/2 year old ****-a-poo who def knows something is up...from right before I found out I was pregnant he started being even more affectionate, and licking me, and just watching me...since then (im 32 weeks now) he's been the same, and he follows me everywhere and waits for me outside the bathroom...I think it's adorable.

I researched it,and read that animals may be able to detect the hormone change b/c we smell differently to them!

ETA that Im LMAO that is blocked out the nickname for cockerspaniel in my dogs breed!

Re: Do you think your pets know your PG?

My dog totally knew. When I was like 6 weeks, I was in DS's room reading to him and my dog came over and laid on my feet.

First the dog pays very little attention to me unless i have food or am yelling at her, so this was odd...
Second, she thinks she is a princess and almost never lays directly on the hard wood floors so it was very uncharacteristic.

Now that I am much further along (37 weeks) she is very nervous and "off" around me. Its like she knows something could happen any day!

Yes, my dog has gotten more protective of me recently and she has felt the baby kick her when she's laying on what's left of my lap.

Ever since I found out, our neighbor's dog (who might as well be ours lol) is ALL OVER ME. When he seems me, it's like he seems meat or something.
