who throws a shower?
My mom and most of my best friends are OOS
i'm not super close with my MIL (we get along fine though) and i just don't see her organizing anything.
Honestly, i'm not big on showers in the first place, so if i do have something, i'd rather just have something small at someone's house anyway
and could it be something for both DH and I, not just me?
Do people ever organize their own showers?
sorry.. i'm totally clueless when it comes to this stuff.

my sister basically did her own shower... even though she has 3 sisters and a mom that would have done it for her... she picked the place, her favors the food etc...
she just put my moms email instead of her own for responses... you can put DH's email instead of yours for replies

I'm throwing my own shower.
There was some drama when it came to my bridal shower.. and I really just didn't want to deal with it anymore.. so I decided to plan my own. It kind of sucks because I have SO much to do without it.. but such is life.

DH & I are throwing my shower. Well, I am planning it with my cousins and BFF and he is paying for it
I am an only child and my mom passed when I was young. I have one aunt, a few cousins and some friends that really fought me to throw one. But I just don't feel comfortable asking for them to do it (financially) I just got married a few years ago and they went all out, and now I'm asking for play pens 
We are paying for the restaurant and the Godmothers are paying for the rest because they literally insisted or were going to forfeit the party! ha
Do what YOU and your DH want and feel comfortable with. There are no rules!

my MIL and SILs live out of state, so I am planning my own. my MIL and dad are helping out financially but im doing all the work... I put MILs number on the invite though.

my mom is throwing mine but i'm helping with the plans and everything.
DH is having his own "diaper party" at his parent's house with the guys from work and some male family members.

My mom hosted and paid for my shower....I helped her with a lot of the details for planning and my best friend ran the shower the day of. A bunch of my friends came early to help set up and also helped throughout the day.

Same here so i didn't have one. 
Work did throw me a little one and I was able to visit w/ oos friends at our babymoon so I had another tiny one. But no real one.
