when did you finish your nursery?

we are team . i am 27w, and i really dont think i will finish my nursery before is here. we plan to keep the baby in our room at first anyway, so i dont see this as a huge issue. plus during maternity leave maybe i'll have a few extra minutes to do some of the homemade touches that i really want to do.

im just curious if this is unrealistic. we are jewish and at first i wasnt even going to start the nursery at all until was here, but i find that even more unrealistic, so now im thinking i will just save the touches for later. is anyone else doing this or do most people finish it all before baby gets here??

we are doing a nature themed brown and green nursery and if its a girl i'll add lavender or pink accents, and if its a boy i probably wont change much.

I highly doubt I will have everything done by the time is here.
My shower is a little late in the game... so with setting up stuff from the shower and if there are any returns to be made, along with having to figure out which items we still need to buy before she comes... it's just going to be A LOT of work crammed into a small time frame... added onto how far along I'll be. I just don't see it all getting done before she's here.

I am 31 weeks and I am just about done. I just have to put a few things on the wall and the hutch, put my bedding on and organize the closet

i plan on having everything done before our little girl arrives. but that's just the way i am - i'm a planner and have it all figured out in my head lol. i think for me, it would make me stressed knowing its not done and that i would still have to go out and buy things after she gets home.

I am 38 weeks and it's still not completely done!

I really don't think it matters if it's done after LO is born. The baby will be in your room the first few weeks anyway. We are not done yet and I'm 37 weeks.

I am being induced tomorrow and there are still somethings I would like to do in his room. It is good for now but I want some more personal touches.

I had my shower 2 weeks ago (I was 31 weeks then) and had to set everything up right after that. DH thought I was crazy but I was so excited. I am going to rewash everything and clean the room again when LO is born, because he or she will be in our room in the beginning anyway, but I was so excited after the shower and wanted to set everything up and look at it all done. The room is pretty much complete now, we just have to hang up a few things on the wall.

I'm 24 weeks tomorrow and our nursery is painted and the furniture will be delivered Wednesday. We won't add too many details to the room until after my shower (32 weeks).

I think you'll be fine. We aren't even moving into our house into after to LO is born! We'll still be in our 1 bedroom apt when he/she arrives so no room to set up, just a bassinet. Whatever happens happens and everything will get done at some point, it always does ya know?

i think it all depends on the person. if you plan on putting the baby in your room for a while then i think you're fine not having the nursery finished yet. how much work are we talking about? are you just re-oraganizing or you talking new flooring, new paint etc?

i'm 27 weeks right now and so far we have a new carpet and new paint. we put together the crib and we're in teh process of putting together the dresser.
we still have to finish the closet (needs a new door) and put up a wall decal.
the rest i cant do until my shower (31 weeks)

I wasn't in a hurry cuz the baby won't be in there until 3 months or so. We got it all done last week, at 39 weeks. All that is left is a mattress and probably a toy box of some sort. DH wanted it done more than me

I'm too anal not to have it finished. DD was in her crib / nursery by the second night home from the hospital, so I'm glad I had everything in there.

DS#1 nursery was done when I was 7 months pregnant. DS#2 it wasnt done until I was 38 weeks.

we are in the process of getting the nursery ready now...my dad redid the closest, and added a built in book shelf thing, next he is putting crown molding, and then painting. so im hopeing within the next month for everything to be done, and have the furniture deleiverd.

We had everything finished by 35 weeks. Pretty much after the shower everything got finished up. I am way way to anal to not have it done. The only thing missing now is the bedding- we are team green and have two sets picked out I just have a white sheet on the crib now.

unfortunately at almost 26 weeks (tomorrow) we haven't even started it besides putting the crib together. We were supposed to tear down the wood paneling, insulate the walls and then sheetrock/tape/ spackle and paint...but DH got laid off almost a month ago and now we just don't have the $$

It stinks because I'm so anxious to get everything done and it's hard to be in nesting mode and want everything done and not be able to control that not everything CAN get done.

ETA: we do have all the furniture though. just have to put it in there.
