Food Question
Making baked brie for a dinner party tonight. It says cultured pasteurized whole milk. Safe to eat?

Re: Food Question
I dont see why not - its pasteurized and it will be cooked. Pretty sure this is safe!

Re: Food Question
Thanks. I read that soft cheeses might be dangerous b/c of higher bacteria growth, not just pasteurization, but yogurt is full of bacteria and is safe.

Re: Food Question
The bacteria in yogurt are beneficial. Bacteria (listeria) in unpasteurized dairy products are not so friendly.

But, if it's pasteurized it's okay, right?

Re: Food Question
as long as its pasteurized i wouldnt worry about it. brie sometimes isnt which is why its sometimes a no-no. although that is the one food rule im ignoring - i LOOOOVE cheese and have eaten all types of cheeses all pregnancy (although not in excess).

Thank you! I know everyone on here says go by your doctor, but he is so relaxed and hasn't given me any restrictions on anything. Truthfully I haven't asked, but I have been reading books.
