anyone use the stroller bassinet attachment as a bassinet?

I've seen a few store selling stands for the uppababy/bugaboo bassinet attachments (giggle had a stationery one and BBB had one that rocks). of course you could just sit it down on any surface, but I'm wondering how common it is to have the baby sleep in the stroller's bassinet attachment at home in the first few weeks/months...

It would be a nice spacer and money saver for us, but I worry about diaper accidents/etc. Maybe it would work with some kind of liner?

Anyone do this?

DS lived in his stroller bassinet during the day up until he was 3m and was just too long to fit comfortably anymore. Wish he'd fit longer, it was the most comfortable thing in the world for me.

I have he uppabbay vista.

I put a peepee pad on the mattress and wrapped a receiving blanket around the mattress, then with safety pin pinned it at the bottom to keep it taught. If he peed, I just stripped this off and put on a new one. It was so easy.

I never got the stand, I honestly just would wipe the wheels and wheel it into the living room. We took all day long walks when he was a newborn. I went home to BF him and then back outside. On rainy days he's sleep in it most of the day, so that I could watch him and rock him. I later got a swing and that did the trick.

I don't know about night sleeping, I was too paranoid about ventilation and such. But I don't see why you couldn't wheel it into the bedroom and have baby sleep near you that way.

I did diaper changes in it till DS was 3m, but again, he was a really long baby. like over 95% in height

for the first few months, I put DDs in the bassinet part of my bugaboo.. it was a godsend.. I would take it to people's houses too and you can sit it anywhere..

thanks for the responses! We are registering for the Uppababy and it looks like the bassinet attachment will be very useful :)

We have the Bugaboo and both my babies LOVED sleeping in teh attachment up until they were a few months old.

I left it by my bed at night/ The Bugaboo has a soft insert that I wrapped with a blanket
