Just wondering about the validity of this stuff. Do you happen to remember the heartrate really early on (like 7 weeks?) Chat Icon

There is that old wives tale of heart rate above 140 is a girl...heart rate was 146 at 7 weeks. Just curious Chat Icon

Can you tell I'm dying to know the gender here? I have no preference, just hate surprises! Chat Icon

My OB said there is some truth to that tale, but not until the baby is older....so I don't think the heart rate at 7 weeks is helpful. Chat Icon

DS was always 150-170 from 8 weeks to birth.

This time I am having twin girls and their HBs have always hovered around 130-145.

Re: Anyone knowing the gender of your child, please come in...

HR at 7w0d was 135

HR at 11w2d was 150

HR at 12w1d was around 150

HR from 12w+ on my home doppler was always 140s-low 150s

HR on doppler at 18w appt was 140s

I also googled something about free HCG levels at your NT scan and I forgot what the rules were but it said boy for us.

We also had 2 sono techs "guess" the gender at 11w2d and 12w1d and both said boy.

my OB said HR is about 60% accurate at predicting gender in the third tri and that it's a crapshoot before then

The baby's heartrate was over 150 in the beggining but now at the end it's between 130-140. I'm having a girl.

This old wives tale (like all of the others) is bs.

Re: Anyone knowing the gender of your child, please come in...

The heartrate at 7 weeks was about 155. at 13 weeks was about 170 and at 17 weeks was 150. I thought possibly a girl because of the heartrate but we are having a boy! So, I don't think there's much truth to this.
