Child care
I'm due in July and plan on going back to work in September to teach for NYC DOE. What is everyone doing about child care? I feel like I'll be working to pay for someone to take care of my baby.

Re: Child care
I'm in the same situation and I work for the DOE as well. DH and I are currently looking for a house but we need something with an apt in order to pay for childcare. Having an apt will give us the extra income for childcare.

Re: Child care
I am due in May and am a teacher also. I will be staying home next year with the baby and returning the following September.
Thinking I should babysit a teachers' child from a local school to have some income but since this is #1, I don't know what I have in store for me with just one.

Re: Child care
I am due in July and staying out 12 weeks. I am using day care, Tutor Time in Bayside which is close to my work. Its so expensive for day care I agree we work to have someone pay to care for our child.

Re: Child care
Im actually starting a new job in April and have to find out if I will be able to take a full 3 months of maternity leave which is what I initially wanted. I have been looking into daycare centers mostly and have made some appointments with a couple. Childcare is expensive maybe check out local babysitters, sittercity.com is a reputable site

Re: Child care
I'm a part time nursery school teacher so I only work 3 days a week, I won't be going back until September (baby is due any day now) and then I'm hoping my MIL and mom can share the time and watch him the 3 days that I'm working, we'll see once the baby is here.
