Having a C-section on Thursday, but
while I'm so excited to meet I was hoping to go for a vbac.
My Dr. was willing to let me have a trial of labor, but it looks like the baby is measuring small and they are afraid she may have grown as much as she is going to in-utero.
I'm just praying that she is healthy - that is of course my #1 interest
For some reason though, I can't help but be sad about the C-section and the fact that we are choosing her birthday for her.
For my older dd at least I went into labor and it was unplanned.
Not that it makes the birth any less special, but I keep getting emotional about it.

Re: Having a C-section on Thursday, but
i totally understand the choosing the bday thing you are upset over.
when people ask me about c sections and vaginal births that's my number one thing I always say. And everyone is always like "i never thought about that".
I would probably feel the same way you do about it. But all in all... at least you get to meet her come thursday!!!!
I'm sorry its ending up this way for you.

Re: Having a C-section on Thursday, but
I totally understand!!
DS was an emergency c-section. And this time I am scheduled for 39 weeks. Because it is twins my OB prefers I don't try for a VBAC.
I am just secretly hoping I go into labor before then so at least they didn't have their birthday picked for them!
Good luck tomorrow!

Re: Having a C-section on Thursday, but
i know this is how i will feel with DC#2 (when the time comes)
but, you have to stay positive and remember that it doesnt matter how your LO arrives, as long they are safe and sound.

Re: Having a C-section on Thursday, but
I 100% understand how you feel. With my twins, one was breech, so I had no choice - it was a scheduled c-section.
THis time, I switched doctors and did so much research to try for VBAC. I wanted so badly to have a vaginal delivery. I went over 40 weeks with no progress at all. At 40w3d, i had a biophysical profile which showed a whole bunch of issues - the fluid was extremely low, the baby had barely grown since my 36w sono, and the flow through the cord was poor. They admitted me to the hospital that night - to monitor me while they gave me a few more hours to go into labor on my own - but the next morning, although I was having contractions 7 min apart, my cervix was still closed and long, and thick, and the baby was very high up. So I had to get a c-section. When she was delivered, the cord was wrapped around her entire body and neck, and it was very thin. If I had waited to try to get the vbac, there was a good chance she could have died inside me - so I know doing the c-sec was the right choice - but i am completely devastated I had two c-sections, never went into labor, never pushed, or anything like that - that all three of my kids were surgically removed from my body.

Re: Having a C-section on Thursday, but
I totally understand. Im going to be scheduled in June for a C Section and the thought of knowing DS's birthday in advance stinks. The most important thing, though, as you stated, is that she is healthy!! Best of luck!
