Driving to Florida-where to stop?

My DH loves to drive through the night but I'm thinking by morning we'll have to stop somewhere and walk/stretch/eat. Anyone know of a good place. I assume we'll be near NC by that point. Thanks Chat Icon

When we had drive to Fl we either dont stop other than to eat something at one of the rest stop, put gas and stretch or we stop to sleep in a hotel in SC. Usually we leave NY around 4 am and just stop for breakfast and gas until SC around 7 pm.

South of the Border is always fun. It's in NC, just north of the border w/SC. You can't miss it - there are signs all along 95.

There are also lots of coastal places you could stop at in NC, SC, but you'll have to stray from 95 a bit.

We used to stop right around Fayatteville, NC - lots of hotels right off 95 there.

You can go farther south to South of the Border, too. It is an interesting place to be sure. :)

I am actually right around that area; let me see what I can find in terms of decent accommodations close to the interstate.

Wherever you stop - make sure to stop every 2 hours for 10 minutes and walk around. (Everyone in the car, not just the driver.)

Don't be stupid like me and drive for 3 hours straight, walk around the car twice and think it's OK. I ended up getting a DVT and PE from it. Chat Icon

Same here! We get a hotel, a good night sleep, and continue on the next day!

Totally OT but have you been testd for clotting issues? If not, ask your Dr for a thrombopheilia panel

We just did this trip yesterday and stopped in Florence, SC. We did try to stop and walk around every few hours, too.
