Can you share your experience with Dr. Frank Roberto, Cliff Nerman, FH Pediatrics or Dr. Izak Reischer?

I recently moved to the Forest Hills area and baby is due very soon... and need recommendations for a pediatrician very quickly. :)

I'm delivering at Winthrop and was wondering if it was important to find a pediatrician that has privileges to that hopsital, so when the baby is born he/she can check on the baby? Or is it ok to just use the hospital pediatrician till we check out and f/u with our own pediatrician?

I am thinking about Frank Roberto in New Hyde Park, as he has privileges at Winthrop, but wasn't sure if that was too far with a newborn. Looks like a 20 minute drive.

Other option would be some in the FH area, such as FH Pediatrics Group or Dr. Izak Reischer. However they are not affiliated with Winthrop. Any does anyone know if they provide parking?

we just used the dr. the hospital had and then brought our sons in at 3 days old to their ped. (who we met before hand.) we use kew garden pediatrics. dr. goldstein is good. there is also the fh peds group and i hear they are good but smaller.

i'd only use a local ped bc when they are sick u do not want to have to drive far for a dr.!

The Ped we chose when DS was born did not have privleges at the hospital where I delivered. The on call ped saw him when he was born and then we went to our regular ped a few days after we got home.

I would try to find someone you like near you. My ped is about 10 mins away and it's great for us.

I use Forest Hills Pediatrics and I really like all the doctors in the practice.

They have parking for patients.

You can choose to go to the same dr. for all your visits or rotate through the group.

They have great hours including weekends (though they fill up quickly).

I've never had more than a 15 minute wait.

There is no sick/well room if that is a concern for you. Everyone is in the same waiting room.

They are also not great about call backs (may take 4-5 hours) but will squeeze you in any day for a sick visit.

It is not really important to have your pediatrician have rights to the hospital where you deliver.

A hospital pediatrician will check your baby out when you are in the hospital.

Thank you for the tips. What did you guys think of office staff at FH Pediatrics? Was reading mixed reviews on that.

Can anyone also share your experience with Dr. Roberto, Dr. Nerwen, Dr. Reischer and their office staff?

If I have a sick baby/child, do most docs usually squeeze you in easily, or is that when a bigger practice comes in handy?

I use Dr. Frank Roberto. I LOVEEEEEEEEEE HIM. My dc have been going to him since they were born. and my kids are now 8 yrs and 6 yrs. He is outstanding. My sisters lil girl goes to him, my sister in laws 3 kids go to him, my next door neighbors 3 kids go to him. I cant say enough about him. Ive never waited more then 10 minutes to be seen. Im always given an emergency visit when needed. I love all the girls that work in the office. He answers his pager after hours. I could go on and on about him.

I've read so many great reviews on Dr. Roberto here that I'm really tempted to use him, even though there is a much closer one to my house. Is he a single practice or has other doctors in the office as well?

Parking is convenient? Squeezing emergencies day of is pretty easy? He returns calls pretty good? Not too condescending about things? (First time mom, so I may have more than enough questions. :))

Hello I use Dr Roberto we LOVE HIM. he is the only dr in the practice. If you need an appt they fit you in ..I have never waited more than 5 minutes in the waiting room anytime ive been there. His staff is awesome, he is awesome you will be very happy with him. Parking is right outside his building never have a problem finding a spot.

He is not condenscending in any way AT ALL. he answers every question you ask him and trust me ive asked him some doozies and is always polite and respectful.
