Where should I put my swing set?

This is my view from the back door. I want to put the swing set straight back, center of the yard. It won't take up that much space, and we don't have huge parties , there will still be enough room for the amount of people we have over. I anticipate that when DD is old enough to go and play outside by herself, I will be able to see her if I am cooking dinner, etc.

DH thinks we should put it off to the side, sideways over to the right. As you can see, its out of view from the doors. So, I would be nervous that I can't see DD. (again, when she is old enough to go outside and play on her own) He just wants it out of the way so we still have the open space in the backyard.

I see his point but so I am undecided.

I'd put it straight back, for the reasons you stated. I'd rather be able to see my son.

Your yard is the size it is and the swingset is the size it is, so the only question is whether you will have more room on the side or straight back. For entertaining and stuff, I don't think it matters, as long as there is space somewhere.

just make sure you think about where the sun is vs where the swings will face. we had to turn ours 90 degrees because the sun was always in the kids' eyes
