Re: Farmingville

Honestly it depends on which part of town you're in. I live in the part that isn't so great. It's not horrible but not great either. But I grew up in and my parents still live in a great neighborhood on the other side. You're probably thinking about the illegal immigrant/day laborer situations. We've been in our house for about 3 years now and we were pretty much right in the heart of where all that stuff goes on. But I've noticed that there seems to be less and less lately. Maybe they've gone back or something but I really don't notice a lot of the issues that used to go on with them. The schools are great. I want to stay in the Sachem SD whenever we do move.

Re: Farmingville

I agree with the PP... We live in Farmingville and have no complaints. Our block everyone is very friendly and waves and says hello and all that. We live off Blue Point Rd. There are a ton of rental houses in this area, so some reters just don't care for yard work...we rent, and we love making our yard look nice... If you go east of 83 the area is super nice looking.... but I'm pretty content where we are now. When I found this house, DH refused to come look at it...juding just by the name. Sure enough, he loves it here too... it changed alot from the way it was years ago. Cleaned up a ton.

Re: Farmingville

My friend used to live in Farmingville(I think the name of her street was Berkshire. She lived across the street from a house that had illegal people living in the backyard in tents. She sold and took a big loss to get out of there.
