We were planning on privately banking, I thought it would be about $2k, but now it seems like they run $2,500-$2,800 for blood and tissue -- is that about right?

I just read the little pamphlet in the North Shore pregistration materials last night though and it mentioned that if your child has a genetic disease or leukemia then you wouldn't be able to use their cord blood/tissue since it would also have those problems.

So does anyone know what are they using a child's own cord blood for at the moment?
