Is there any way to get a safe fake tan?
My brother is getting married next month and I am a bridesmaid. Of course the dress is strapless and I am so pale. I do not want to be super golden but I want a little something to give me a "glow" at least on my shoulders and chest. Obviously tanning in a bed is unsafe but I am curious to know about spray or rub tanning. I am reading controversial things online and I will ask my doctor next week but I wanted to gather some info here. I am looking for a more natural approach if that is even possible! TIA.

spray/airbrush tans should be fine but if you are worried you can also use a tanning lotion like Jergens or something. Those are perfectly safe.

I researched this a couple of weeks ago when I was going on vacation. Spray or airbrush tanning is not recommended. The only safe fake tan would be Jergens. I went away completely pasty white.

Of course if pasty white is the only option then so be it. My baby's safety far surpasses the wedding pictures! I just wanted to see if there were any other safe options.
Does anyone know anything about sugar spray tanning? Suppossedly it is colorless and triggers your natural melatonins to enhance and create a glow. I have never heard of it but someone at work mentioned it...

I would honestly discuss this with your OB and see what he/she says ...

Ok, while every OB says something different I was an avid spray tanner, I wasn't oomploompa status but I loved a nice glow, well I asked my OB bc DH was bugging me and sure enough 3 of them said NO, apparently it can get into the bloodstream or something. I also asked my OB that I had to stop going to bc he was too far from my house and he said no too. I'd do the nevia one, it smells better and lasts longer than jergens IMO

Of course I am going to but I was asking if anyone had any experience with this themselves prior to my appt next week.

Re: Is there any way to get a safe fake tan?
I've had mixed reviews. I'm not sure if Airbrush and Spray are the same thing. When I asked my OB he said he doesn't really know for sure if it's ok or not, but that "he wouldn't".
But, I've read on some sites that airbrush is ok. And when I asked the place I usually go to they said it's ok - but of course they would.
I've been wondering this myself lately because I am doing maternity pics May 5th and my shower is May 7th and I doubt I will have much of a tan by then .
