Does Eyeshadow primer really make a difference?
I went to Sephora at lunch today and got a few things The sales girl convinced me to get eyeshadow primer and said it really made a difference with making the shadow more vibrant and staying on longer. True or not?

i totally agree, and i have dry skin. My shadow stays all day and all night with the urban decay primer. I love the shade "sin" - it's a pinky champagne color that i even wear on its own sometimes.

Absolutely! I use a Paint Pot from MAC in Painterly, though. Worked better than actual primers for me.

Yesss I second MAC's Painterly. I love LOVE it. Sometimes I even use it as a shadow if i dont feel doing my eyes for work. Lasts all day. Definitely worth buying!!!

yes it does, I have very oily skin and usually my eyeshadow is dissolved by oil by midday, but I don't have that problem with a primer - I use Smashbox eyelid primer.

Agreed. I dont use this on a daily basis, but definitely if I have to dress up for special occassions

Absolutely.. I believe that if you have oily skin, it's even more necessary.. I have combo skin and would get creases on my eyelids (GROSS!) now, NOTHING. it's perfect all day long.

yes, and i have dry skin! my eye shadow used to disappear in a few hours and now it lasts all day, all night, and still looks pretty good the next morning if i forget to wash it off. the colors are more vibrant too.
i dont use regular makeup primer because i dont really see a difference but eyeshadow primer is amazing

I only use it on the lid, because the primer I use has a color to it. Urban Decay -- it's the beige color. like a shimmery gold. i use it as a light shadow and then just put darker brown on the crease
i think you would use foundation primer for concealer

Do you ladies use it in conjunction with face primer? Are you guys using foundation as well?
Or are you girls using eyeshadow primer because you only wear loose powder/tinted moisturizer?
I have the UD eyeshadow primer but never bothered with it because I use a face primer and liquid foundation. Never had a problem with my eyeshadow going anywhere or creasing (unless it was a cream shadow.)

I use face primer & liquid makeup, but I don't put it on my eyelids. Sometime I put my concealer on my eyelids though, but not all over, just where the veins show through. (my dark circles sort of make a C, if that makes sense)
I do all my other make up (except lips), then eye shadow primer, followed by shadow/liner/mascara.
When I was at an Arbonne party, the rep said their primer could be used on eyelids, but the Too Faced one has retinols in it so I was afraid to put that on my lids.

Benefit makes one ( Stay Don't Stray)that is for both lids & undereye. I like it under my concealer, btu I don't find it helps myshadow stay as well as the Urban Decay primer.

I have B.E.'s Prime Time eye primier. I Love it! my eyeshadow stays on until I wash it off when I'm getting ready for bed!

let's just say it lasts over 24 hours- not that I recommend it
