Dilemma Re: Furniture...what would you do?

so i had my eye on 2 pieces of furniture from Baby Mod. Convertible crib and a dresser that could be used as a changer.
i waited too long and now the crib is sold out online and i dont knwo when it will be restocked. i'm so mad!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

davinci makes a comprable set to baby mod but the dresser is more money. both companies are divisions of Million Dollar Baby manufacturer.

i was thinking of buying the davinci crib and baby mod dresser...both in espresso. do you think the color will match? would you buy from 2 diff companies that had the same mother company?

i'm sure it will match fine.

my living room is cherry wood furniture. I have 2 pcs in cherry wood. 2 are from the same set so they obv match.
the 3rd is from another store, another company makes it, etc. it's also cherry wood. it matches just fine.

You can always ask a company representative if the two colors match since they make both brands! Chat Icon

And that s ucks that you couldn't get the crib you wanted!

I'm almost 100% positive we won't buy a set. I never do. I like pieces that go together, but don't have to necessarily be identical.

Re: Dilemma Re: Furniture...what would you do?

I think you'd be fine buying the pieces separately.

We had a whole nursery set from DS. But needed a 2nd crib. We went back to Behr's to make the order and they told me the manufacturer had changed. So while the pieces were still from the same "mold" the color might be slightly off.

We got the second crib and you cannot tell they weren't bought at the same time.

well the thing is, even when you look at the pics of the same brand, it looks a different color, its weird but i think its just the pic because when i read reviews, no one talks about the pieces being different colors

this is the baby mod cadence version

and this is the equivalent...davinci kalani

We just got our Kalani furniture set.. I love the color. Its not espresso but Cherry that looks between a light cherry and chestnut.. THe color is gorgeous just watch out for the espressos. Not all espressos are the same color. G/L

Re: Dilemma Re: Furniture...what would you do?

Can you ask for a sample of the wood to be sent? I know some places do that. If not, can you go to the stores and see them in person?
