tell me about this. How do you hold out for the entire pregnancy?
I have a  and a  and we found out with each. We are thinking of not finding out this time-well, I'm thinking of it, DH seems to be willing to go along with my idea.

We're only 9 weeks, but hoping to remain team  . My biggest problem is all of our friends and family want us to find out. My mom wants to go shopping so bad, and it's killing her that we won't find out.

i think if you want to be team you just know that's what you want. im 23 weeks and have no desire to find out the sex until the day i give birth. i mean i wonder all the time, but i always imagined not finding out til the moment is born, so now that im pregnant theres really no reason that should change. i actually didnt realize that so many people DO find out - i always thought it was just natural to not find out. so im not. its really not a difficult thing for me since i don't really have a preference.

i knew i would be team green from the beginning. at first, thinking about it was a tad hard but it really hasnt phased me much. once i was able to find neutral bedding and stuff i liked, it became super easy. i really just have no desire to find out. hold out! its so much fun!

IDK how to explain it -- you just do!
DH and I both agreed we would NOT find out the sex...it just wasn't even a question for some reason. Oddly enough, I always thought I'd need to know; but once we found out we were expecting, nope didn't want to find out.
At sonograms we just tell the tech that we do not want to know and they informed us that they would make sure they didn't scan in that area or even note on the chart what the sex of the baby is.
It's pretty fun hearing all the funny reasons people are so sure we are having a or a .
As for buying items, no matter what we would have done gender neutral things since I wouldn't want to have to get all brand new stuff when we eventually have another baby.
I just can't wait to hear in the delivery room... "It's a ........."

It was only hard around 19-21 weeks, I almost almost wanted to know. Other than that little stretch it's been so fun! Everyone takes guesses, my husband and I talk about it every night. We just wanted an awesome surprise!

I have a friend who is team green.
but she's always trying to find out in other ways.
for example she texted me this morning to ask what my baby's heart rate was... bc she knows I have a girl.
she also asks me lots of questions about when and how often I feel my girl move. She believes that boys move more than girls.
she's trying to find out through all the old wives tales. which aren't actually fact anyway.
it's a little funny to me that she doesn't want to know, yet she's always trying to find out.
i guess it can just be hard not finding out. so long as it's something you REALLY want then you will have the will power to be strong, not cave in and not find out.

i get this, but you can still have it regardless of being team green. I had a gender reveal party this weekend and there is nothing that could top the looks on my family's faces when they all bit into blue cupcakes so there is still that surprise, though I'm sure it's not quite the same as when you are actually giving birth and find out then and there.
I think it's admirable that people can wait, but I always wanted to find out so I could plan everything ahead of time and not worry about returning all those green and yellow clothes

I'm 29 weeks now and it was only hard the week before my level 2. I almost caved at that point, but I'm glad I didn't. I'm having fun just wondering and fantasizing about whether it's a girl or boy. I'm just having fun with the extra bit of surprise.
It has made a few things harder, picking out bedding, a name etc. but those are minor things to me.

i personally never tried to find out via old wives tales. nor did i even try to find out based on how I was carrying or anyone else carries. I just don't believe in that stuff. sure it might be fun for some. but personally i didn't have an interest in it.
her thing is more "I KNOW it's a boy" and so she tries to find out that it's a boy based on old wives tales and comparing to others. If anything states that it might be a girl... she fights as to why it's a boy. she's not guessing... she's adamant. if anyone says girl she kinda shoots them down. she says she likes when people try to "challenge" that she thinks it's a boy. IDK that that's what they are doing, but it's how she sees it.
Sorry... but it's funny to me. Her in particular. I'm not saying anything bad about it. I just find it funny, that's all.

this is SO true. my sisters this weekend said they were so sure I was having a girl but now that they saw me, i had to be having a boy because i look so good.   whatever THAT means!

i needed to know too.
and i was in shock for DAYS!! i'm still shocked! it wasn't what i thought it was at all. it blew us away. honestly.
id probably cave if i tried to be team green. it's just not me. i couldn't do it.

you know.. i saw my friend when i was like 13 weeks or so. and she was one of the very few who said girl to me.
i went home thinking i must have looked really bad that day. i was sad. hahaha! i don't believe the old wives tales at all... but i know others do and so my thinking was that she believes them and was saying i was ugly.

I'm normally not one for surprises, but team green sort of came naturally. We agreed before even getting PG that we wouldn't find out. It took us a year and a half to get PG - what's another 9 months? I have zero preference for one gender over the other, which I think really helps. Plus, I don't want people buying all pink or blue stuff for the baby. And my DH wants that moment of coming out of the delivery room to tell our families the gender of the baby and his/her name.

Our decision came out of our struggle to get pregnant. We figured if we could wait over 4 years just to get me pregnant, we could wait 9 more months to find out the sex...plus it was the only old fashioned thing about the pregnancy, LOL!

Not gonna lie, when they told me they could see the sex at the Dr.'s I was so tempted. I even had them take the pic and seal it in an envelope for us, which we plan to open after delivery but it's really not so bad (just to see if they were right). After a while you get used to the idea, of waiting to meet your LO but the bonding is no different & I still feel very close to my baby even if I don't know the sex.
