Ready to throw in the towel on pumping

DS is almost 4 months and I've been exclusively pumping since he was 6 weeks and the last week or so I have just felt done with it.

breastfeeding doesnt really work for him- he'll snack but he prefers the bottle Chat Icon maybe I'd feel better if I wasnt constantly hooked up to a pump about this

just needed to vent

Four months is great! You should feel proud, not upset! Chat Icon

What I can say is that it gets easier b/c as you introduce more solids - you can pump less and less.

thanks! the thing is I don't want to introduce solids until 5 months, so I was hoping to at least get the breastmilk to 5 or 6 months but I don't know if I can do it... It really suxs pumping at work

pun intended lol

Re: Ready to throw in the towel on pumping

4 months is EXCELLENT!!! You've already given your baby so much, dont' beat yourself up!

I think I'm in the minority, but I think it's easier to pump at work. I only work part-time, but the two days I'm in the office I find it's so easy to jump to the pumping room whenever I need to, as opposed to being home with DD and figuring out how to pump around her schedule.

That's probably not useful info AT ALL, I'm just thinking out loud Chat Icon

I know exactly how you feel! Chat Icon
It is VERY hard and VERY stressful. I introduced 1 formula bottle this week, bc I really feel like my pumping days are coming to an end too. You made it FOUR MONTHS... that's HUGE!!! Don't feel guilty at all.

4 months is AMAZING...you did a great job!!

I only made it to 3 months, however that was my goal. I feel guilty too but I just remind myself that I did the best I can. I EP'd since day 1 and I hated every single moment of it.
