summer babies

im due mid-july and was originally not going to register for a bassinet and just have her sleep in her crib from the get go. but now that i'm thinking about it - it's going to be summer, we have a/c in each bedroom... but i dont feel comfortable with leaving her in her own room with the a/c on and door closed after she's born!

we registered for a pack n play, so i could set that up in our bedroom so she's near us. do you think i should get a bassinet instead of using the pack n play?

the one we registered for does not come with that feature. just the mat that is closer to the top which can be lowered.

Re: summer babies

I did the PNP with bassinet, I am due in July too. We dont have alot of space and I want the baby in my room because I will be BF. I felt like we could get alot of use out of it instead of just a bassinet.

Re: summer babies

I just got the arms reach co-sleeper so i can have it right next to the bed for a few months since i will be BF'ing in the beginning. We kept DD in a bassinet next to the bed for the first 2 months and then transitioned her to the crib. We plan the same for this one too.

lol im clueless. we saw some pack n plays that come with an extra attachment and were called a "napper" or something like that and i thought that was considered the bassinet part.

Re: summer babies

I'm due July 3rd.
There won't be an AC in the baby's room.. but the baby's room is right off of our room and we have an AC that will cool her room off too.

With that being said... I could literally see her crib from my bed. I didn't register for a bassinet or anything like that. I just did a really super comfortable glider and I also registered for a thing that goes in the bed that you can lay baby on. We don't plan on having baby sleep with us but with BF you never know. If the baby falls asleep in that thing I can just carry her in it to the crib without disturbing her.

I tried to find a pic of it on my registry but its one of the in store only items so there's no pic or info on it. Chat Icon

I don't think it can be lowered... not that top piece the baby could sleep in.
the other part can be lowered but that's the regular bottom part.
that top piece my SIL said the baby could sleep in, but it's called a "changer" on the one I registered for. I doubt I'll have my baby sleep in it though.

does the bassinet you registered for look like this?.... the part I'm talking about is on the top left.... do you have that? that doesn't lower on mine. but the big part under it does lower.

Get the Fisher Price Newborn Rock and Play Sleeper...DD was born late June and slept in this next to my bed every night for her first 3 mos of life...it's THE best thing ever. She napped in it all day - we took it anywhere we went.

yeah ours comes with the changer too, but that's not what im referring too. the big mat part does lower to the bottom of the pack n play when the baby outgrows the weight limit.
