I'll admit it, I won't cruise on anything but Royal Caribbean.

Same! Had great experiences so no reason to change!

I am not going to say rude things about other cruielines because I don't want to hurt people's feelings like I know they haveChat Icon

We love Carnival. Chat Icon

We love the ship, the people are all ages and very friendly, leaving out of NY, the kids club, and the prices. We can get the biggest room they have for a great price and get VIP Status. That's why we love CarnivalChat Icon

LOVEEEE carnival. We have been on two cruises with them. We can't wait to sail out of NY again. NCL was just okay.

Re: Preference for Cruise lines?

I have been on NCL and Celebrity. We have another NCL cruise booked for this spring. I think both lines are good. I would like to go on a RCC cruise as I have heard great things about that line as well. From what I have heard IRL about Carnival I don't think it is the right cruise line for us. We are not big drinkers. I think I had one drink the entire time I cruised last time. From everything I have read/heard Carnival is more of a party type ship....

Re: Preference for Cruise lines?

My first cruise was a 3-nigher on a cruise line that no longer exists. I have since been on two week-long Carnival cruisers, and one on RCL. Each was a very different situation that had more do do with the people I was cruising with and my age than the cruiseline (with parents, with ILs, just with DH).

That said, I LOVED my two Carnival cruises, and thought that my RCL cruise was just okay. I would gladly try RCL again, with just me and DH to really compare it to Carnival, but Carnival is so much more affordable and I have no complaints about it, so I see no reason to spend more money. As far as the ships go, I liked the Carnival ships I've been on better.

I only cruise Celebrity. I have done quite a few cruises with them. I prefer the traditional style of cruising then the free styling cruise.

Celebrity is also a little more of an older crowd so there aren't many kids on there.

Agreed. Celebrity is my favorite. We've cruised them a few times. It's nice, fancy. Food is great, service is top notch...

However, DH and I broke our "We will never cruise Carnival" rule and booked a Carnival cruise for May. So, I am willing to try anything for a fun vacay.

Re: Preference for Cruise lines?

I just wanted to say that on my 6 Carnival cruises I've never felt that it was a party ship. Lots of families and even a lot of older people. It all depends on when you go and where you go. Typically shorter cruises during school breaks are going to tend to attract a younger albeit "wilder" crowd.

I agree. We do not party at all nor do we smoke. I never once felt it was a party cruise. There were a lot of families with young children and extended families when we go.
I think it has that image from years and years ago and they are having a tough time shaking it.

Re: Preference for Cruise lines?

I've been on Carivnal, RCCL and Norweigian.

I wouldn't sail Carnival again because of the food and the crowd. Norweigian was Chat Icon. RCCL was good.
I'm so weird though - I don't go for the entertainment (it's not very good) or for tons of food. I like being able to stop at several ports in a week and sleeping on a giant boat - the other passengers really make or break the experience for me.

If I go on one again, I'd like to try Princess or Celebrity.
