Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
For those of you who are going to the gym and/or continuing your exercise routine what does your workouts consist of? Treadmill/elliptical/bike/cardio...how long? Weights?

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I try to go to the gym 3 times a week. 2 times to walk on the treadmill for a total for the week of 4.5 miles and then 1 day of an exercise class that i like that is mostly light weights.
the 3 times doesn't always happen though...last week I only went 2 times but the week before I went 4 times and this week I haven't gone at all yet...but its more about what my weekend plans are and what work is like than anything else that impacts how many times i make it.
I am almost 29w.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
Ive been doing some stretching, ball exercises, a few yoga poses, and 10lb dumbbells 3-4 times a week, but trying to do more.
I was walking up until maybe a month ago 3-4 times a week for 30 min but with this weather I cant really do it (I was walking outside). Plus my ankles are so swollen and my feet hurt so I only walk maybe 15 min 3-4 times a week, if the weathers nice or if I feel up to going to a department store to walk around. I am 33 weeks.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
Im working out at home doing prenatal dvds. I do prenatal pilates, prenatal cardio and weights, a lot of squatts and lunges and upper body. I use either 3 or 5lbs. I try to workout 3-5 days a week.

I'm almost 14w and I'm going to the gym 4-5 days a week. I do the elliptical or sometimes run a mile or 2. I also do light weights (about 5lbs each) for arms. I try not to push it because I get tired very fast.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I am still going to they gym btwn 3-5 times a week. I do water aerobics 3-4 times, yoga 1-2 times, exercise bike, and sometimes the elliptical. Up until about 3 weeks ago I also did a lot of core training, lunges on stability disks etc. . Now I'm also walking a few hours a week.
I really haven't done any weights in months. .
now though I really am trying to listen to my body and only do what it is okay with but I am at the END!!!!!

do you recommend any dvd in particular? so far i only have prenatal yoga.
I haven't done much unfortunately between being sick the first 14 weeks and then this stupid weather. I've gone to prenatal yoga 1x a week.

I do DVD's. The first trimester did Look Better Naked and some days I did the 30 days shred. 2nd trimester has been one or two mile indoor walking DVD (Leslie Sansone).

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I've been doing a run/walk (5 min run, 5 min walk) 3-4 times a week for about 30-40 minutes, prenatal yoga class 1x a week and lifting 3 or 8 lb dumbbells to keep my arms in shape. I think it's definitely helped me avoid a lot aches and pains.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I'm amazed at what I can still do. I'm 32 weeks and going to the gym 4-5 times a week. I do 30-40 min on the elliptical and then strength alternating leg and arm workouts. I do low weights, high reps. I won't lift more than 10 lb dumbells.

I had no idea there are prenatal exercise dvds, I'll have to look into that!

That's awesome Kristin! We just bought an elliptical for the house and I absolutely love it. I keep it on level 1 and do a few intervals throughout the day. I stopped my weight lifting and between that and not being able to do pushups and planks which I used to do everyday my arms are starting to look like jello, so I think I'm going to get a set of dumbells to work a little with.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I am only 8w2d and have been so tired but I have been trying to make sure I walk a few times a week at least. I hope to also get back to spinning 2xtimes a week and I want to try yoga as well.
I am nervous about weights but think I will do light upper body weights as well.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I'm 39w2d and basically all I do is power walking. I just go for 30 minutes (which is pretty much how I worked out BEFORE the pregnancy too). I've never been big on lifting weights and gym exercise machines.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I've been trying to hit at least 3x a week. Some weeks are better than others. I do yoga and zumba classes. On the 3rd day I'll walk the treadmill for 45 minutes. I haven't been doing much weight training.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I jog about 3-4 miles a few times a week. I take a walk break if my heartrate goes above 160 (I have a high max HR so my number is higher than others should use as a guide.)
I also take a boot camp class once a week. We work all arm/back muscle groups and when the rest do an work, the PT has me do lower back exercises.

I really like "10 minute solution: Prenatal Pilates" - I like the workouts are broken into 10 minute workouts so you can decide what area you want to workout or for how long you want to workout.
I also do "Complete preganancy fitness with Erin Obrien" quite a bit. I am also a sucker for "Fit and Firm pregnancy" with Denise Austin - its old and a little cheesy but Denise Austin's voice is so soothing and I like that she keeps saying "feeling good". lol
I have a few others that I am not that into. You can also do workouts on youtube - which I try to do like once a week to mix it up.

Re: Those of you still working out...what's your regimine?
I alternate between walking and riding my stationary bike 30-40 minutes 3-4 times a week. I use 7.5-10lb weights 2 days a week and take a zumba class once a week!
