"Push" gift
Is anyone getting a "push" gift from their husband? This is something that my friends have all done and I think although it can be seen as presumptious is also kind of nice. DH has been asking me for ideas so I was thinking to tell him to get something sentimental that relates to the baby and I could either wear (like jewelry) or could treasure forever (a keepsake).
Is anyone else doing this? And if so, what are you getting?

Re: "Push" gift
I would like a charm for my Chamilia bracelet, and get a mommy necklace. For the necklace, I'd want to wait till after the birth to have the date and name. I already have one with our initials and wedding date, so I'd probably just get another one from the same Etsy vendor. I most likely would either order myself or ask for the next holiday.

Re: "Push" gift
I am (and so is my husband) I wanted a an initial necklace baby's initial and husbands initial on two separate circle discs. I'm also surprising my husband with an ipad that I've been saving for over the last few months. I feel after all he's put up with during this pregnancy that he deserves a little thank you, haha. It may turn into a father's day gift because I'm waiting for the new one.
I know that push presents get a bad rap, but oh well.

Re: "Push" gift
I'm sort of getting a push gift, but it's not anything sentimental. DH is going to take me on an underwear/bra shopping spree a couple/few months after having . I've always said that a woman will never feel physically good about herself unless she's wearing the proper garments underneath her clothes . DH has seen me get really frustrated over cup size changes and feeling like my hips no longer look good in certain underwear anymore...so he's actually the one that came up with this idea! I couldn't have thought of anything to make me feel better like this will!

Re: "Push" gift
my husband already got me a really pretty "Mom" locket as one of my Christmas gifts, so I wouldn't expect anything else. Even though it was not necessarily intended to be a "push" gift, it's what I would have wanted anyhow, I just got it earlier

Re: "Push" gift
With my first son, my DH got me a diamond and opal necklace (October birthstone). I'm sure he will get me something this time around, but I haven't outright asked for anything.
I do have a Pandora bracelet, so he might get something for that.

I highly doubt I will be getting anything, maybe if my son is born on our anniversary. We still have to see about that.

Re: "Push" gift
No ... I don't see a need for one and I don't think DH has ever heard of this or would ever buy into it.
Maybe for Christmas I'll get something mommy-related, but nothing else.

Re: "Push" gift
I wanted a 3 stone anniversary band for my push present, but I just got a new engagement ring, so that may be a bit much.
Otherwise, I don't think I will be getting anything.

I better be and it better be expensive! As in something that starts with a C-a-r-t-i-e-r. I'm getting fat, uncomfortable, a little psycho at times and I'm sober! This rat ba stard is not getting off cheap!

Re: "Push" gift
i dunno, it honestly seems like a silly concept to me. I've never heard of this except around LIF and I'm totally not trying to judge...but IMO I can't wrap my head around feeling like you're entitled to some gift for giving birth. If my husband wanted to surprise me with something thats his choice...but to discuss it, expect it or hint at it is a bit much. I'm surprised there is even a term for it.
my gift would be for him to finish the nursery and the bathroom thats been unfinished since the summer! lol

But I feel like if I'm the one getting fat, ugly, uncomfortable and has to deal with the pain of labor I deserve something. It doesn't have to be super expensive but dammit after all this I better get at least something. Pregnancy is hard work!!!!

Re: "Push" gift
Nope - not at all. Never heard of it before LIF and think it's a little silly. (No offense to others, just JMO.)
I don't need any special gift for having OUR baby, I think that alone is pretty awesome and he doesn't have to give me anything special for doing it....just be there and be a good dad!

DH said he's had something for me for months so the only reason I would actually be upset is bc he said I was getting something and then didn't!

Re: "Push" gift
DH got me a beautiful vintage bracelet from DD, I guess we can consider that a push present. I hinted I wanted it but really didnt expect or think he would get it. I will try that method again this time.. have my eye on something too
If I can get away with DH splurging on this silly push present event, I will totally take advantage!!

Re: "Push" gift
I don't want a "push gift" persay but baby is due right around my birthday so I will probably get some kind of baby-related piece of jewelry, possibly with a blue or pink stone depending on gender.
