Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
Yes, we did! Bry got a kick out of it. I found these mailboxes in the Dollar section of Target. Bry filled them with a card (which he "signed" his name), a little bag of M&Ms and a pouch of Fruit snacks.
Didn't want to "keep up" with anyone, just thought it was a cute, fun, and different idea.

I send in something for every holiday. I think it's cute and fun for the kids. I sent in cards with pencils for V-day.

This is a cute idea. I picked these up at Christmas last year and filled them with stuff for Ds teachers. The dollar section at Target has some really cute stuff!

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
I did - I sent in cards and boxes of animal crackers, and cookies for the party. I kind of wanted to do it before I got the list of names (there are only 5 other kids in DS' class) and glad I did.
I just remembered how much fun I had on Valentines day when I was young.

I dont consider that keeping up with the jones'. Valentines are fun and encourage social skills and friendships.
I 150% agree with this. And I removed the last part that let you off the hook if you don't want to because honestly, I think you have to. Can you imagine how she'd feel being the only kid in her class not to bring any in?
(I realize it's post Valentine's day, but this made me so sad to envision this little girl going to school with no Valentines in hand )

Wow, way to make the mom's who didn't send them in feel bad. Now I'm envisioning my little girl as the only one without them. Meanwhile, the teachers sent no requests or reminders. I didn't know that handing out valentines was a common practice at 3...and I teach 1st grade! I checked in with this post to see if any other moms didn't do it b/c I still felt bad. I felt a little better until I read the last response.

we did.
her teacher only asked that if we do them, we do one for everybody.
fwiw, I don't see a $2 box of valentines as "keeping up" with anybody.

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
We didn't. 2 kids in Abby's class did. I think there are 8 or 10 kids. I thought it was sweet, but what concerned me was that one of the packages was FULL of choking hazards. I took them before Abby could see them. Fortunately, there were a few items she could play with safely.

Yes, we sent Valentine's with my DD. We made small bags for all of the students in her 2 classes. She loved it and was so proud.

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
I sent in a box of valentine's pop'ems for my DS and DD's teachers to give out to all the kids. I also bought Russell Stover candy hearts for my DC to give to their teachers and teacher assistants.

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
DD's nursery school teacher sent home a list with all the names so we sent them in. I took DD to CVS and let her pick out the ones she wanted - she went with Tinkerbell.
I was surprised how much candy & trinkets she came home with. We only sent in the Valentines, but everyone else except 1 other family sent in candy or some kind of tricket also.

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
I did.
ds(1) was sent in with cards with pencils attached. I wrote in the names for the kids I knew. The others just had signed from ds. our daycare didn't send home a list. I asked how many kids there are.
he went in with 14 and came home with 2....... yet I saw other kids cubbies definately had more than 2..... I think it might be cause he recently switched to that room.
I also sent in candy valentines for the 5 teachers.

Re: Did you send in Valentines to school/daycare with your DC
We were given letters requesting that every child in the class bring in valentines on the 14th - they asked for just a card for each child - no candy or food.
We did it - the kids LOVED it - they were so excited. The children made heart shaped bags with a ribbon as a handle and they put all the valentines into the bag so they could take them home.
