granite/fabricators and the whole process
Just started looking at granite for my new kitchen and find the whole process confusing.
ANyone have any fabricators they recommend ? Or advice on how to get the best price ? Important things to look for ?
Did your fabricator seal your granite ?
TIA

Re: granite/fabricators and the whole process
We got out granite from Hindustan and Tuscany Granite and Marble did our fab. They were spot on and we saved about 800 going with them. I originally faxed the owner(Barry) my plans and he gave me an estimate since he was about 35 mins from my home. Very nice company to work with!

Re: granite/fabricators and the whole process
We went through Home Depot...the fabricator they used did seal our granite. My DH actually got a cheaper quote form another company and braught it to Home Depot and they matched it...we got a better warranty from Home Depot. We got Giallo Ornamental...see my album. Good Luck, this was a stressful process!

Re: granite/fabricators and the whole process
I used K&V Master Marble and Granite - they are on Rt. 109 across from the airport, a little west of Wendy's. They were fairly priced and include a lifetime sealer as well as your choice of five or six edges, including ogee. They templated and installed it two days later. They were also able to do the countertop with no seams, where many others we priced said they couldn't (or wouldn't) do that. They told us if it ever chips, cracks, etc to just call them and they will come fix it. We haven't had any problems though. We started by getting a price for a basic granite (go in with your measurements) so we knew that would be the cheapest. Then we visited some granite yards and priced a few we really liked. We're happy with them.
