HPG Test Question?

Is there a real difference between all the Home Pregnancy Tests out there? Is one better or more accurate than another? AF is now 10 days late (and I am never late) and the Clear Blue Easy test I took is negative... I have a dr.'s appt. tomorrow to check officially.

Yes , there are some difference between HPTs... some detect lower levels of the hcg hormone in your urine, others need a higher level before they will show a "positive" result.

There are also (generally) some better tests than others out there...

The only sure way to know is to have a beta (blood test) done .. so its a good idea that you are going to your doctor tomorrow

Thanks! I think my levels would have been high enough to detect because I waited until I was a whole week late before I tested. Well, I guess we will see tomorrow....

How do you know you are "late" ? What day did you ovulate ?

Best test out there in my opinion is EQUATE...from walmart.....very inexpensive and quite sensitive. Always brought me luck ....it's laced with babydust :)

I am not charting or anything, but I am very regular. Every 28 days exactly. I went to the doctor yesteday and they took a urine test which was negative. I had already taken one on Friday which had the same result. My doctor actually said it was not necessary at this time to do a blood test and just wait until next month. I agreed at the time, but now I am questioning whether I should have just to know for sure. She did assure me that something would have showed up in the urine test since my last period was 5/14. My levels would have been high enough and they were not even 25. Oh well, we were not officially trying, but maybe now we will since we were both disappointed :(

Not if you ovulated really late ? Why was it too difficult for them to do a beta ? Did they check you for a cyst ? So now you have to just 'wait' until AF comes without knowing what's going on ?

I just don't understand many doctors.

I guess I am just waiting now. I was scheduled for a regular check-up so that was done. But you are right now I am just suppose to wait and see...
