Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

I know someone like this and like another poster said, I just let her talk and yes her to death.

As for the c section thing, I think that could be legit. there are alot of reasons why someone might not be allowed to go into labor. I was also told by my dr very early on that we are most likely looking at another c section (although I was told, I could possibly go for a vbac, though not likely).

Some people get off on having all the answers and will do anything to make it seem like they know everything and have been through it all. This is how it seems to be..

Sounds odd...I'd just let her talk and I'd nod my head.

Well, as far as the C-section (speaking as someone who has had one) my OB did say for subsequent C-sections they don't wait for your water to break or for you to go into labor. They will usually schedule your repeat C-sec at 39 weeks so it's not unusual they would have mentioned that to her already. As for everything else, it's possible they could've miscalculated her ovulation and subsequent EDD so that's not too nuts but feeling the baby at 9 wks, she's full of cr@p. You cannot feel anything at 9 wks, not even in a 2nd pregnancy. That's waaaaaay too early.

Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

yeah she sounds a little loony. . like my friend in elementary school who said. ."let me play a song I wrote on my guitar" and then played 'momma don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys "

I agree with all the pps. . c-section legit, even the timing can be legit - not nec bc it's true but bc of how the dr measure things. . my due date was first moved and I knew for a FACT that it was too early but the doc said I was wrong and that's how LO was measuring. . so for my timing someone could have said i was wrong too. .

STILLLLLLLLL - baby moving is NONSENSE and does seem like she has some weird competition thing going on which is odd bc she already has a kid. . the old "I've been feeling that for weeks" is cuckoo .

I agree just ignore her. .

She sounds very strange. I knew a few girls like her when I was much younger. I haven't dealt with them in years. I would just ignore her.

Most of it sounds strange, but I did discuss a repeat c-section at my 2nd appt which was around 12 weeks, so that makes sense. They spoke about how we would schedule it for 39 weeks, since they don't want you to go into labor on your own.

I agree sounds like a "one upper".

I was thinking this too, but sounds a little nutty. I know pple like that. Hey, I was thinking I felt the baby early and I knew it had to be nuts. It was gas Chat Icon

Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

With my second pregnancy my doctor brought up a repeat csection at my 8 week appointment. He said "I strongly suggest you do not do a VBAC" -- I said "I agree completely"

She's feeling gas - not the baby Chat Icon

ETA: She def. sounds like a one-upper!

Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

the way you described her reminds me of this woman I work with. She just loves to talk and always needs to be right. A lot of times what she says doesn't even make sense. I dn't know if it's a low self esteem thing that makes people like that demand attention? I'm not sure. I have a feeling your friend is either just talking for attenion, or she's actually MADE herself believe certain things. I honestly don't think there's ANY way she would feel the baby move that early.

She sounds like a one upper. With that said, I felt DD at 9 weeks and went to the obgyn, he said I was full of it. Well he pulled out the doppler and said prove it. I did it. She was kicking. My obgyn was floored. So could she feel the baby at 9 weeks, yes, but that is really early. I don't think she could feel it for weeks before though.

OHHH she also told me her 8 week appt was an external sono. she said she never had an internal sono with this baby.. they have all been external!!

When I was pregnant with DS, all of my sonos were external including the one at 7/8 weeks.

I had a brief conversation with my doctor at my 3 month PP appointment about VBACs and she had told me I probably wasn't a good candidate for one. I don't think it's that unusual for a doctor to make that determination early on in another pregnancy or even before that. There are situations with the earlier pregnancy and L&D experience that make women good and bad candidates for a VBAC.

Some of the other things do seem a little odd. Although many women feel movement earlier with 2nd pregnancies, I can't imagine many feel movement during the 1st trimester. The baby is so small at that point. I'd chalk it up to her being a one upper.

Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

OK - I agree strange... but I do always try to find the good in what people are saying/or play devils advocate... here's what I come up with....

1) the 2 weeks thing, maybe she originally didn't include the 2 weeks b4 your ovulate, which in reality IS included in our over all timeline....

2) she said she "felt" the baby, or did she say she "felt the baby move" 2 different things in my book. Early on I "felt" where the baby/my uterus was, almost felt like a softball in my belly - never "felt" this with my first.

3) the c-section thing, her and the doc could have discussed it, just putting it all out on the table.

1 - no way. she calculated that part. she texted me the minute she got the 2nd line. she's been telling me everything play by play. she def counted those 2 weeks. we were ttc together as well so i know the details of it all for her.

2. she literally meant she felt the baby moving.

3. def could have been discussed. she's been non stop talking about it since week 6.... just seems like she's having it next week!! that's more the odd part. i told her, i wouldn't worry about this so much right now, it's so early wait until later on to figure it out and worry.

Re: Strange Vent that I will remove at some point...

the timing thing.... 2 weeks different would mean she shouldn't have had the BFN then 2 days later a BFP...s he would have had a BFP from the get go.
plus she knows when she ovulated and took the test before AF was due.
time wise with the calculations don't make sense.

I think what she is doing is moving her date up by the c section. so if her c section will be 2 weeks prior to the 40 week period @38 weeks.. then she's not 9 weeks, she's 11.

i know it's nuts but she said something to me the other day about it. and though i was confused i didn't ask anything or say anything about it.
