We found mold on 2 of our CAC vents

We found mold on 2 of our CAC vents
We are painting our bedroom and took down the vent to paint and It was covered in mold  So we took down the bathroom vent and found the same The ones in the boys rooms were clean as well as the rest of the house. I am guessing the bathroom one was from the humidity in the bathroom, but not sure why our bedroom one was.
I am going to call a company and have them clean out our entire CAC system but I am freaked out. My kids are constantly sick with runny noses and ear infections and I have been having my own sinus/allergy issues and I wonder if its related.
We checked other areas of the house including our basement and see no mold spots. I think it was just related to the CAC.

Get a hepa filter until you get this reolved. It helped my husband so much.

unfortunately this happens, mold is everywhere. An air purifier would help...

Bathroom vents are notorious for this. Your bedroom, not sure but is that near the bathroom?

Ugghhh... never knew this.
Yes, our bedroom is right next to our bathroom and the vent is near the door so its possible it could be attaching some humidity from the showers.

Yes, our bedroom is right next to our bathroom and the vent is near the door so its possible it could be attaching some humidity from the showers.
We just had cac installed and the installer told us he prefers not to put them in bathrooms b/c they get moldy. So we did not do it. I would say open the vent up, clean whatever you see and wash the cover good. And just keep an eye on it going forward.

DH used to work for a company that used to clear CAC vents for hospitals. He said that you would never believe how dirty the inside of those things get. His company recommended having them cleaned every 6 months because you can get very sick from breathing in all that crap.
