Need some support please
I quit smoking last Sunday when I got my BFP and I am having a very hard time. It was ok last week, but this weekend was awful. I know it’s just my body going through withdrawal, but I’m so moody. I have been smoking for 22 years (I know-gross) and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I don’t know what I’m looking for here- maybe just a hug-a-roo.

Re: Need some support please
you can do it! i quit cold turkey about 3 years ago and it was tough but eventually it gets better. try to avoid being around pple when they are smoking and since your preggers your already not drinking so that helps too!
good luck

You can do it! Everytime you think about how hard it is, think about WHO you are doing it for! That little baby will be so much healthier as will his/her mommy! Keep up the good work!

Re: Need some support please
I feel your pain, girl. I smoked my last one the day before my BFP. I've cut down significantly over the last 6 months and now I just have to take the final step. We can do this!!!! We just have to focus on our LOs and it will get better

Thanks ladies!! I always told myself I’d stop when I got preggers, I just never knew how hard it would be. I guess it’s just one day at a time. Thanks again!

Re: Need some support please
I completely understand what you're going through. I quit, cold turkey, over 10 years ago. I won't lie, it was one of the toughest things I've ever done. I can tell you, the first month was the toughest for me and it WILL get easier. Like you said, just take it one day at a time and you will get through this. I also lived on mentos and mints - I just popped one every time I wanted a cigarette and that really helped. Good luck to you and congratulations on your BFP

Stacey I am SO proud of you!!! Tell yourself that the moodiness is preg hormones, not nicotine withdrawal. It's all about mindset.

I also quit with my BFP. I tried to quit before but went back, I was smoking a lot less (really just weekends and a cple a day)
I find that I just focus on the baby. Picture smoking and your belly filling with smoke and your baby not breathing THAT is what it does The second I think that I forget about smoking

Wow there are a few of us!
I always feel/felt so ashamed to admit I smoked here bc it is gross and of course bad for concieving!
I had my last one the day I saw the faint line-threw out my pack.
It hasnt been that hard honestly. But it has only been a cple weeks...when I get stressed I feel it but then I focus on the baby and it passes so quick

Its totally gross and I'm ashamed as well I did cut back alot knowing that we were going to start TTC, but now I obviously NEED to stop totally. Its only been a few days and it hasn't been unbearable yet, but I know I will have days like that.
I'm just glad I'm not alone on this one

Re: Need some support please
Quitting smoking is soooo hard. I've done it like 5 times but it does get better. After 72 hours most of the nicotine is out of your system...for me the worst withdrawals were the ones that were mental....remember you are doing the best thing for you and your baby. Hang in there...it's hard but you can do it

Re: Need some support please
I agree with just think about the baby whenever you feel like having a cigarette. Smoking cuts off oxygen supply to the baby, and is so so horrible for him/her. You can do it!!!

Re: Need some support please
Hang in there! I know how hard it is. Just think about how good you feel each morning when you wake up knowing you went another day with out smoking and possibly adding another day onto your life. That always helped me. Best of Luck!

First, can I say, Wow! Good for you! That is so impressive!
And secondly, my mom quit 25 years ago and still has the hankering every now and then! Just take it day by day and think of how far you've come!!! I am so impressed.
