Pjs for the hospital stay?

What kind of pjs did you bring to the hospital? Did you bring dark ones? Ones you didn't care about??? I know to bring ones that button down from the front.

There are so many cute ones at victorias secret (that would be great because I would totally wear them again and they don't look fuddy, lol), but I would hate to buy nice pjs to only have them ruined! Am I better off just getting cheaps ones at walmart that I don't really care about? HELP!!!

Thanks!

This is my second baby. I honestly wore the gowns form the hospital for the first 2 days or so (I had a C sec), then just very comfy old sweats/pjs that I didn't care about ruining. I wouldn't buy anything really nice for the hospital stay.

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

Bring whatever you are most comfortable wearing. Remember that you'll still have a belly after the baby is born, so if you buy your regular size in VS or whatever they probably won't fit.

Yes I thought about that! Thanks! I'd probably order a size bigger than I would normally wear!

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

definitely comfy dark colored pj's. With my first I wore the hospital gown for the first day and then my pj's the next day. But you definitely want dark just in case.

I wore the hospital gown for the first day and a half and then when i was able to shower (had a c section), just put on maternity yoga pants and a tank. I didnt really wear pjs.

The first day or two I wore black but then I felt comfortable wearing whatever color. I had a c section though...Totally get bigger...I swelled so much right after the birth that even stuff when I was pregnant didn't fit and anything that was tight hurt my incision.

I bought two pairs of really cute blue and pink PJs with matching robes and my mom brought the pink ones after DD was born

I just made sure they buttoned down the front.

Yes, you are bleeding heavily but I also wore THREE pads that they gave me so I had no issues with getting them dirty. lol

I wore a black nightgown and a black robe over it. They come in to check you a few times so I found it easier to wear a gown.

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

With DD I wore the gown for day 1(induction), after her birth (c-section) I wore the gown til they let me out of bed, then I washed up and put on my own nightgown (pink, never got blood on it), after that I was in flannel pants and top pj's. They were checking my c section site daily, so I just had to pull down the pants, no biggie and I was super comfy.

Comfortable, loose and easy to get off. You are going to have those monster pads and the oh so fashionable mesh panties theyngive for the first day or so. After that, just think comfort. Loose bands, baggy and again comfortable. You can be fashionable after your done bleeding Chat Icon

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

I got a cheap cute black set from Wal-Mart and then I got black sweatpant gauchos over the summer at Old Navy to wear with my nursing tanks.

Your going to bleed a lot so I def. wouldnt get anything that you would want to use again just in case there is leakage.

If you plan on nursing, make sure to get something that allows for easy access to the boobies. My PJ set buttons down the front.

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

I am bringing a couple of BIG dark PJ pant bottoms I got at Target and Old Navy with regular tank tops. Nothing too special.
I also went to Target today and bought 5 pair of fugly black Hanes her way undies in XL. Dont care if I ruin them, and they were cheap.

Re: Pjs for the hospital stay?

I think I wore the gown for 2 or 3 days. Just easier than getting dressed! LOL

Then after that I wore comfy clothes that I didn't care if I ruined, KWIM Chat Icon.
