Re: Yoga Pants and Sweat Pants-spinoff to mom attire
To me the difference is the fabric.
"Sweats" are made out of terry or fleece. Styles vary from flared to elastic in the ankles.
Yoga pants tend to have lycra as a property. Can be fitted, boot cut, flared, etc.. They're generally a lighter weight than "sweats."
And running pants are like those Adidas nylon pants.
That's my take on it. Doesn't mean it's right or wrong, but that's where my simple head is at.

Definitely not the same for me. My yoga pants are much tighter than my lounging sweat pants

I agree with you, but they are all still "athletic wear" to me & all fall into the same category of "don't wear for non-athletic" use, just they way I wouldn't wear a swim suit for non-swimming use.

they are not the same thing due to materials. but they are "comfort wear" in my mind. I think they are today's sweat pants.

I do not wear anything I would wear to the gym out of the house- but that is just me- sweats or yoga pants..

no i dont consider them to be the same thing. for me, yoga pants are like leggings. they're tighter and fitted whereas sweats are looser on the legs.

Not the same. Sweat pants are for my lazy days. Yoga pants I think can look really cute.

DH is a big fan of yoga pants! I think he'd wish for me to never wear sweats again! As everyone said, much more figure flattering and tight fitting but still comfy/stretchy material. I love working out in yoga pants and just wearing them out for errands, etc.

Re: Yoga Pants and Sweat Pants-spinoff to mom attire
I never wear sweatpants and haven't since I was in middle school. I do wear Yoga pants around the house and out when I'm super lazy. So I guess they would be considered my sweats
