Saw the scariest thing last night....im still reeling...
DH, DD and I went to out in-laws for my birthday and had a nice chinese dinner (i have been dying for chinese). Well the neighbors came over as well, she just had a baby girl on sunday morning. We are all talking and laughing and all of a sudden the neighbor, who im friends with, stood up and asked my MIL to hold her hand she just dropped and had a seizure, i have never seen anything like it. Her baby was sleeping, she has just BF'd her and wanted something to eat, she has epilepsy and hadn't had a seizure her entire pregnancy, it had been like a year. It lasted 5 minutes, i called 911 and they took her to the er, even though she fought it the entire way. The whole way home, i was just shocked at what happened and i still reeling from it today, it happened so fast and never seen anything like it. She was sent home last night and is going to see her neurologist next week but it was crazy and scary.

Re: Saw the scariest thing last night....im still reeling...
My MIL has epilepsy and watches my children. She knows when a seizure is coming on and will call me at work to 'talk through it.' Amazingly she can snap out of it if I talk to her calmly enough. But, last week, I was not so lucky. She called me because she felt 'off.' I told her to put DD on the floor and then I heard nothing on the other end of the phone.
I've never driven so fast in my life to get to her house 20 minutes away. When I got there, she was fine. After an hour, she said she felt so much better and sent me back to work.
I've seen my MIL have seizures, and it can be very scary. I'm so sorry that you had to see her have a seizure, but I'm glad you were all there so that her baby was ok.
