Has anyone taken a trip with a toddler and a newborn?
This summer DS will be 2 and will finally be tall enough and old enough to really enjoy Sesame and Hershey. I am due in May and was planning on going in June or July. Would it be silly to attempt the trip with a Newborn? Have any of you done something similar and how did it work out?
TIA

I would talk to your ped, but I would not be comfortable taking a newborn somewhere during the summer where you will be outside the majority of the time. You also have the issue of the newborn not being vaccinated and being around a ton of people. Sorry, but I would definitely wait.

DD was born in May 2008 and at the time DS was 20 months. We went to Sesame in July and left DD with my parents. I was soooooo thankful for leaving her because it was hot and just not a place for a newborn.

not a trip, but I have an amusement park by me that Josh and I get passes to.
The baby hated it last year. Really hated it. And it was a ton of work. Sweaty, hungry, trying to keep her out of sun...taking her out of stroller to stand on lines with him.
if you could leave her at home, i would.

I would also suggest leaving the baby home for the day. And Sesame can easily be done in one day, it does not have to be an overnighter. Last summer I didn't take the baby to any amusement parks (he was 3-5 months over summer) and I probably won't take him this summer either unless DH was coming. I usually do these day trips with girlfriends since it's much less crowded during the week.
