travel agent or not?
I am looking to book a cruise next month for my family trip in August. We have cruised several times before and I have always booked on my own. Is there an advantage to booking through a travel agent? TIA

for a cruise i think you can book on your own. for my honeymoon i used a travel agent because there were a lot of complications involved... we went to hawaii and different islands so there were a lot of flights, connecting flights, etc that it was easier for the travel agent to just book versus us... i think if its not complicated its perfectly fine to book on your own. thats jmo though!

Re: travel agent or not?
Booked our last cruise though an agent and I will never book on my own again.
He was FANTASTIC. Got our price adjusted TWICE that resulted in a huge on board credit AND he sent us an additional on board credit as a thank you ( There was a note waiting for us when we got into our room)

I've done it both ways, but I've used my ta for the last 3..she's wonderful, and while sometimes her price is the same as if i booked on my own, it's also been better..My next one is just a 1 night cruise, and since she couldn't get me any extra discounts, she's having champagne delivered to the room for free

Agents have access to bulk rates so you can sometimes get a better rate.
Also, some agents are part of corsortia's such as Virtuoso, Ensemble or Signature. As a Virtuoso agent for example, you can partake in Voyager Club on select cruises. You get extra perks and VIP treatment for the same price as everyone else. Same goes for hotels.

Re: travel agent or not?
I recently used www.cruises-n-more.com to book our cruise in March, I was very happy.
