For both of my girls, I've never put a onesie (much less another pair of pajamas!) under them. It's the footie pajamas, and then a Sleep Sack on top (cotton in the summer, fleece in the winter).

Anyway, onesie under feety pajamas depending on the temperature

I chose other, because I don't think I'd put a footie pj on alone...
I always put onesie underneath, I worry the zipper could irritate and be uncomfortable.

Years ago, when I was a baby, I think they were meant to be worn over another pair of pjs, but I guess sleep sacks have taken over that practice. I only know this because all my aunts and my mom always ask me if Chase wears them over his pjs. It always made me
So no, he wears them over a onesie and then a sleep sack, not over another pair of pjs.

DS wears them almost every night....I put a long sleeve onesie under them if it is really cold. Last week it was really, really cold and I put him in a lightweight pair of pjs under them. It can get cold in his room...

During the colder months, I put a onesie underneath footed pajamas. If I used a sleep sack, I just put a onesie underneath. After the infant stage, I stopped putting onesies on underneath pajamas. DS would be way too hot with layers.

He always has a long-sleeved white onesie under his footie pj's. If it's a particularly chilly night, we'll put on a thin 2-piece (top and bottoms) set and the footies on over it - no onesie if we do the set.

nothing but a diaper underneath!
he has different material pjs so if it's colder i use fleece pjs and if its warmer i use cotton.
eta - if i think it's really cold i throw on a sleep sack as well.
